God Pleaser or Man Pleaser, it Matters—R Fritz
We will all make a choice on who is more important in our lives, God, or man. In the end it will matter. It will show by our actions who we put first in your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” All we have to do is trust the Lord spiritually and not ourselves. Believe in him and he will show you the steps you should take in your life. It always gets down to our trust level in God because we have trusted in ourselves most of our life. It’s hard to believe in somebody else who we do not know. It’s a process we have to grow into. We need to get started trusting Jesus because its forever.
Every decision we make should run through the Holy Spirit, God knows what is going on in our life and has a plan. We need to get in tune with God. Because we do not ask, we might go in the wrong direction and have to start over or change to a new plan. James 4:3 says “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” We ask God for the wrong thing and do not receive it. That is why we need to ask God for wisdom and to look at our situation expecting an answer and not necessarily our expected answer. Too many people have an expected answer and when God gives them something else, they completely missed God’s answer. We should have a relationship with Jesus Christ to have an expected result and have wisdom seeing what God is doing around us.
I have seen a number of times where the Lord showed me using everything around me. I was in Colorado on vacation a few years back. I saw “Jesus Saves” in a gold mine written down on a post. The same message on poster board in an 18”x 18” sign in 2 different cities and on the back of a camper coming home. My point is God is trying to speak to us in a number of different ways and we do not see it. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil. to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” We need to trust in Jesus Christ, he sees what we are going through. He sees what “our” expected end is. The answer is to pray with an expectation of the answer we are looking for. That requires us to pray like you mean it. God knows when we are serious about what we are asking, It is time when we should stop being passive and really show God our true feeling. God needs to know where you really stand.
The closer our relationship with Jesus Christ, the more trust we should have on what we hear or know that he wants us to do. Isaiah 1:19 says “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if you refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Lord hath spoken it.” This shows God where our heart is. We can outwardly look like we are obedient, but we are not going to kid our God if our actions do not line up with what we are saying. Remember, he reads our heart. There is no hiding our true feelings. We can choose to obey and live with blessings (eating the good of the land) or disobey and get the sword, which being punishment. There are consequences for not obeying God.
There have been times that The Holy Spirit has ask him to do things that I did not want to do. I spoke to the Holy Spirit that I did not want to go the Hospice. God knows all and the reason I did not want to do it. It had to do with me and dealing with my feelings. God knows what is best for us and I can say that the number of times I went there made it easier every time I went there. It made me grow in that area of my life. By saying I did not want to do things for God was not trusting in me and also not trusting in God. Let me say that I always changed my mind when I felt the love of the “Father.” I actually did not know until now what that feeling I felt was. That feeling of love from God (Holy Spirit) just melted my feelings that made me think I could not do what God asked. They were not me wanting to disobey, they were me thinking I could not do what God asked. That brings me to tears to think what God did for me to give me confidence to trust and do what he asked.
God knew my heart, knew I wanted to do what he asked in my heart. My words said I did not want to do it. I just had to overcome myself. John 14:20-21 says, and this is Jesus’ speaking “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” He that loves Jesus is who knows his commandments and keeps them.
There are 10 commandments God gave to Moses and Jesus sums them up in 2 commandments. Matthew 22:36-40 says this is Jesus speaking after being asked the question Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all your soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” These are the 2 greatest commandments.
Everybody is wondering about Blessings. Blessings are handed out by God at his will when he sees they are needed. I find too many people asking or thinking they deserved a blessing for what they are doing. Either we forget or do not know that when we disobey there are consequences for your choice. Disobedience is rebelling against God. We sometimes think we are doing God’s will, so we think we are good and look around and start blaming other people around us for what we think are reasons for our blessings not coming instead of looking at ourselves. What I have found is when blessings come, we want them a certain way. God gives them however he decides. We have to keep our eyes and ears open when God makes the decision. We also need to look and see if we have obeyed God and asked God if we have done something that is not righteous. It starts with you and your prayers. God Bless!
