God is Speaking to you, do You Hear Him—R Fritz
God is always trying to get our attention. We choose whether we listen or not. I see people questioning if they are hearing from God. That question needs some answers. In my case, I was looking for answers about 20 years ago. When you are willing to do anything to overcome issues in your life. You will find your answer to your prayers in Jesus Christ. You have to be serious and trust Jesus even if you do not know him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” This is one of the most important verses in the Bible. It is all about trusting the Lord thoroughly and not trusting in yourself and following Jesus and he will direct the path where you should go. Our relationship with Jesus should change over time if we are growing with Jesus Christ. That is a process you choose either to grow or get stagnant and slide back. Jesus is always showing us love, no matter what our decision is.
When we start to obey, God starts to speak to us. In my case, God actually called my name (audible monotone voice) a few times at work when I was in a pickup truck by myself. That was my start down the narrow path. We can start at the wide gate and switch to the narrow gate at any time. Matthew 7:13-14 says, and this is Jesus, speaking “Enter ye in the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Most people will go down the wide gate to destruction, “few” will find the narrow way that leads to eternal life.
In those 20 years, I had a few teachers besides the Holy Spirit. Once I found a person who dealt with spirits and I got the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit said it would teach me all things. I struggled with knowing when I was talking to the Holy Spirit. I started to understand because I started to ask a question to a teacher and the answer would be answered in my mind and thoughts, the second question was answered before I got half of the question out of my mouth and the third time it was answered before I even asked it. This is when I knew for sure the Holy Spirit was answering my questions.
Satan is aware of who you are and who you represent. We all came from a different life. He wants us to go back to our old life and old behaviors.
John 8:42-44 says, and Jesus said unto them, “If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do you not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Jesus knows who he is talking to and why they do not understand or hear God’s word. Jesus is speaking about Satan and his nature being a liar and the father of all lies. Satan cannot read your mind. He gives you thoughts and sees where your words and actions take you. Satan had a literal livestream to your mind.
We get our thoughts from 3 places, God, Satan, or ourselves. Before your relationship with Jesus, it was Satan and us and did not hear Jesus. Satin and his spirits have operated in your mind for a long time. Satan knows us and his thoughts and our thoughts get mixed together. We know the nasty thoughts we should not do but Satan is subtle and taught us to sin and made us think we were doing the right thing. The Holy Spirit gives a defense to Satan and to his bombardment of our thoughts. With the Holy Spirit, the Bible comes alive and when Satan tries to camouflage his words as your thoughts and gives you part of a Bible verse as an answer, the Holy Spirit shows you that’s not me. This is the hands-on training I have received by the Holy Spirit.
Every time that I talk and council people, I ask the Holy Spirit what is going on in this situation. We do not understand if we look at the situation in the flesh. The issues all started in the spiritual realm. Satan has his hands on that situation whether physical, mental, or emotional. We defeat Satan by understanding what is going on in the spirit. God knows and sees what is going on in every situation. Proverbs 9:10 says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” “Fear” of the Lord is a reverence and knowledge of the holy and the Lord’s righteousness is what starts our wisdom and understanding and are our forms of blessings from the Lord.
This brings me to some more teaching by the Holy Spirit that happened this week. I went to a bible study expecting to hear teachings from the Bible. This time I was the teacher and the student. Before I got there, I came out of a gas station, looked outside, felt spiritual oppression, and made a statement “This is not going to be a good day.” This is something that I cannot remember ever saying before. I do not say things like that. It was a matter for a friend of mine and me to minister to people. It says that you have to be ready for anything that God has for you to help other people. This was the start of what God had for me.
The next morning is when The Holy Spirit and I go over what happened the day before. This is what the Holy Spirit said to me, my statement that “today would be a bad day” was not a wrong or out of line statement. It was a statement that it was a bad day for Satan. The second thing the Holy Spirit said after me asking a question, the Holy Spirit said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways.” Isaiah 55:8-9 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” I then asked another question about somebody else that was there, and the Holy Spirit said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways.” I said to the Lord “How can that be because it was the same answer.” The Holy Spirit said, “His thoughts are not your thoughts, and his ways are not your ways.” The Holy Spirit told me “Lean not on my own understanding” Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy path.” What the Holy Spirit was telling me was this other person knew more about the Lord’s thoughts and ways. He also said his understanding was higher than mine. At that point, the Holy Spirit gave me more understanding. God controls how much understanding we have, and when he adds more understanding.
The last thing the Holy Spirit said was “we ask amiss.” James 4:3 says “Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. When we pray, we ask for the wrong thing. We should be asking for God’s wisdom and understanding, not just for wisdom and understanding. Man’s wisdom and understanding does us no good in a spiritual battle which we are in. I have changed how I pray for others. It is now up to you, to choose who you will serve and how you will pray. God Bless.
