Our Character and Integrity Shows Who We are in Jesus Christ—R Fritz

When we choose Jesus Christ, we are excepted as we are, our personality and nature, our good with our bad. Our nature changes, over time a lot of things we did or like to do change. Our instruction book is the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” All scripture is for us for instruction in righteousness. It’s what God wants for us. We go from sinner to being righteous little by little. If we receive the Holy Ghost and study, we can become somebody the Holy Spirit can use. The more knowledge we receive, the more we can overcome our issues.

Our heart is where the Holy Spirit resides. It affects all our emotions and can control our mind if we let it. Satan can also control your thoughts and mind. We have to know who we are listening to. Matthew 12:34-37 says, and this is Jesus, speaking “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  Our heart and the abundance of our emotions eventually are spoken out whether good or evil and every word we speak we will have to give an account why we said them. This is why we should be slow to speak and slow to act, because we are responsible for our words and actions.

There are two kinds of anger, an unrighteous anger, and a righteous anger. The difference is an anger that comes out of flesh where we are hot tempered or looking for vengeance, seek to hurt or retaliate is unrighteous. Righteous anger has to be emotion over mistreatment or malice of another, morally right or Holy Spirit justified. Righteous anger speaks the truth in love. We are supposed to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we come to unrighteous anger, we are thinking about what somebody has done to us. Ephesians 4:26-27,29-32 “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

When I wrote this the Holy Spirit reminded me about somebody that did something that offended me about a month ago. I forgave this person for what they wrote to me. When we hang onto a wrong, if we do not deal with it turns into a bigger hurt and we look to right that wrong. That is why we need to forgive when the Holy Spirit shows you what has happened, otherwise it will grow into a bigger problem and unrighteous anger. Sometimes we do not know what was said or done by somebody that actually bothers us. The Holy Spirit knows you well. That relationship with the Holy Spirit keeps you on a righteous path. Our feelings might be hurt, the Holy Spirit knows how to make it right.

God has a plan for each and every person. That path that is given to us is what God has for our life and what’s best for us. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not on your understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct your paths.”  We are supposed to trust the Lord with all of your heart and all of your mind, and he will direct your path and every step. The biggest part of a path is taking that first step and trusting the Lord that he has every step planned and your life covered.

I receive a text yesterday. When I read it, I knew it was God’s plan and was excited. When the Holy Spirit lives in you, your relationship with God is a partnership if you let the Holy Spirit operate in your life. There were times when I looked at my thoughts through my eyes quickly and thought I not going to do what God asked. I learned that I need to look through my Holy Spirit eyes and God’s wisdom to get the whole picture. When we look with our Holy Spirit eyes, we see the big picture, all the issues that stop us, including fear go away because we are not relying on our wisdom. Sometimes God’s plan includes other people. We need to do God’s plan because we can affect other lives. I have learned to follow the Holy Spirits lead.

Remember the Holy Spirit that lives in us overcomes fear because God did not give us the spirit of fear. 1 John 4:18 says “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” The perfect love is God and in 1 John 4:8 says, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”  With the Holy Spirit alive in us, fear has to leave, and we are able to recognize the spirit of fear through the feeling of torment. That is how I recognize the spirit of fear because I felt that feeling of torment. For us to be able to follow God’s plan, it requires the Holy Spirit. God can change any situation, speak to you, or heal anybody. With the Holy Spirit you can be used to do whatever the Holy Spirit wants to do including praying and healing people. You have to be a willing participant for God to use you. You have to have the character and integrity of God. Righteousness has to be attribute. You might think to yourself that I do not know if I can do it. The answer is “you” cannot by yourself, but with the Holy Spirit “you can accomplish anything.” Obedience is the key. God’s grace is what overcomes the times where we cannot accomplish what is asked of us. We have too many people trying to change people or situations in the flesh or without God, our battle is in the spirit, our prayers moving people or changing situations miles away from us. Only with God can we change a suicide or drug overdose. Follow God’s plan. God Bless.
