Who is Controlling your Words and your Mouth—R Fritz
You are going to tell me that you are speaking the words and they are yours. We need to look deeper into that statement. Yes, the words come out of our mouths. Yes, they are your feelings that bring out words, good or bad feelings. Our words come from our hearts where our feelings and emotions get a hold of us. Our thoughts give our feelings the fuel to get us to act in words and actions. Our tongue is the part of our body we cannot control. James 3:8-10,15,17 says “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth and blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. This wisdom descendeth not from above but is earthly, sensual, devilish. But the wisdom that is from above is pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” We can control our tongue with the wisdom from above. We cannot do it any other way. Your words will define you and show you as you really are. You cannot hide. We need a spiritual awakening with the Holy Spirit to show you wisdom.
You have to be serious about Jesus Christ and studying and communicating with him. If you keep pushing to get close to him, he will talk and help you with life and the issues from your past and overcoming Satan. I have seen the way Satin wants to upset us and to get us to think about what somebody said or how we perceive a situation in our lives. He brings the past into the present or as far as fear is concerned Satan takes your present into your future, such as worrying about somebody or something to happen in the future. He is the father of lies. He tells people untruths and also, he has people tell a small truth with a big lie mixed together and people know that small truth but because of that truth is wrapped around the lie they believe the whole thing. The Holy Spirit shows me his tricks. I talk about Satan, so people know his tricks or lies.
When I first talked about who was controlling your words, I was getting at how Satan uses people around you to manipulate our moods, feelings and how our day goes to try to get us to sin or to argue or treat other people badly. I am talking about my experiences. I have seen Satan stopped in his tracks with prayer or God doing something to stop his trick.
Sometimes we need to discern what is going on with the people around us. Discerning is the spiritual term that is used to look at other people or situations. It might be your spiritual gift. We should be discerning people to see if they are good or evil and well as checking ourselves to see our hearts. We should be looking at everybody’s heart. Luke 6:45-49 and this is Jesus speaking “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil; for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speakest. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” This is a parable about the heart or what is in that heart. If we love Jesus, we will obey him. If you obey, your life will be on the rock Jesus Christ, and nothing will bring down your life. If you choose not to obey Jesus Christ, your life without him as your rock you will not have the foundation to weather the storm in your life.
Jesus is the “Spiritual Manna” that was sent down to earth. In the Old Testament, the children of Israel were sent to the wilderness of Sin in Exodus 16. God gave them bread in the morning and flesh (quail) to eat in the evening, this was the physical manna. They were in the desert for 40 years. In the New Testament, Jesus came to feed us Spiritual food (manna) and if we eat this we will never die. John 6:48-51,63 says, and this is Jesus speaking “I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. It is the spirit that quickened; the flesh profited nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Jesus is the spiritual food that sustains spiritual life. The Holy Spirit came to give us the spiritual food being the Word. If we read the Word in the flesh, we miss out on the spiritual food. The Holy Spirit gives the ability to receive that spiritual food.
Jesus came to set people free from the bondage of sin. The Spirit is what gives the ability to overcome sin. This is the gift given when Jesus died. We need to choose him and obey him. If we do both we are blessed. The Holy Spirit is our conscience and knows right from wrong, we just have to follow. This is us giving our will to the Holy Spirit and trusting the outcome. Everybody is at a different level of trust. Sometimes we need to take a leap of faith and trust in the Word. It is your choice to trust in the Holy Spirit or to trust in “you.” God Bless.
