God is Always Trying to Make a Better You—R Fritz
We have a choice to change or not to change. Sometimes because of our decision not to act on something or procrastinate an outcome happens. That outcome has consequences. Procrastination is the reason people think that putting something off and not acting on it is not an answer. It is an answer and that answer is no. We get many advertisements in the mail. When we throw them away or put them aside, our answer is no for at least for now. We do the same thing to God. Somebody might say something to you and you do not want to hear it. You have to think about it or pray about it, if you act or not, you have made a decision because it’s no, until you say yes and act. What people do not understand is God has a hand in your life whether you know or like it. God is in control.
We do not understand that God sees everything we do or say. He might see it but if you are not talking to him and are happy where you are, he probably is not going to push you to overcome your past and shape your present and the future. There are those who want to be righteous, know God and be the shining star to people and somebody the Holy Spirit will be able to use. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” We need to know God’s righteousness, so we are righteous in God’s eyes.
The daily issues that we go through are what defines us. They are the decisions we made good or bad. They are also sometimes the things we go through that God gives us to overcome our past. The Holy Spirit is trying to help us to become righteous, holy, loving. For us to have the attributes of God we need to get God’s wisdom and understanding of where we understand spiritual things because the Bible is spiritually discerned. 1Corinthians 2:14-15 says “But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.” The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and understands spiritual things.
The thing I have seen is that we have a choice when God decides to help us overcome something or overcome the past and the issues you might not know about or do not understand. This is how the Holy Spirit showed me some things
that Satan was using against me. Our past is known by Satan, even though we might not know some of our past. Our mind has put some of the issues we do not want to deal with or do not know how to deal with back in our memories. Our mind keeps the good and important memories close. The bad memories are pushed back in the brain and forgotten. When God feels it is time to deal with them, the Holy Spirit brings them out slowly, that is when we have an opportunity to deal with our past. We have a choice to tell the Holy Spirit our answer, in my case, I said let’s get through it and move on. I was telling the Holy Spirit I would cooperate with what the Holy Spirit was doing.
When people refuse to cooperate or do not see what God wants to do. They do not see what God is showing them and do not ask any question why they are going through what they saw in their past. It is us not having a good relationship and being able to communicate with God. That is a lack of trust. We have trusted in ourselves all our lives up to this point. We have had nobody else we trusted in no matter what our issues were whether physical or mental until we had to. When we did not trust in ourself we have trusted doctors until it looked like they cannot help us anymore. Then we ask God for help when we should have asked or called out to God when the issue first appeared. Joshua1:9 says “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goeth.” The truth is we believe what we see and not necessarily what we cannot. This is where trust comes in.
When we understand God’s nature, we know he does not lie. We just need to trust him. That comes after we call out to him or pray. He loves us and if he loves us, he will look out for us. He is righteous. Knowing these attributes how can we not trust him and obey him. I think a lot of people look to God as they would another human. They do that because they do not understand or know him.
I have spent the last 6 months or so studying and finding out who God is and trying to understand God. The words that were used to define God have more of a meaning than what man’s definition is. When you dig into God’s Word and study who he is, in my case he gave me more of “his” understanding and with that, you see and understand more of who he is because I see more spiritual and words
that I know the meaning from dictionaries do not really explain the meaning that God’s wisdom and understanding knows. This stirs up the Holy Spirit who puts you upon the verses in the Bible that give you answers. I challenge and ask everybody who reads this to study who God is. I also pray for more of God’s understanding. You will become a better person. This is how God works in that if you want to find out more, he will make sure that happens with the Holy Spirit showing you.
I am going to leave you with this. Matthew 22:37-40 says Jesus said unto them, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hand all the law and the prophets.” Love changes all situations if we look at it with God’s love. God Bless.
