Why we Should Give Thanks to God Every Day of Our Life—R Fritz
Some people do not understand without God they will have issues, issues that you cannot control, and we will need God. We were made with a connection to God. That connection is part of us at birth. Love, God’s love is always in us. The issues that we had growing up or through life have changed that love into anger, fear, and forgetting God’s love. We did not know this at that time. God loves us and wants us to love him. We were also given a sinful nature and a carnal mind through Adam. Many of us decided to go our own way without God being involved. I was one of them. The reason was we listened to other people, who like us, did not know any better. We also see the fun these people were having without rules.
Living in the flesh with us going where our intelligence leads us was our life and still might be leading some of us. These were the choices that were made with the information you had at the time through your knowledge. Using your intelligence got you where you are. 1 Corinthians 1:25,27,29 says “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; That no flesh should glory in his presence.” Our wisdom and intelligence are foolishness to God, and he has chosen the foolish things of the world to confuse the wise. We need God’s wisdom.
We have a choice to make to give our life to Jesus Christ or let sin rule our lives. If our master is Jesus Christ, we choose to obey him and if you choose your old life our master is sin. It requires action because words do not show what we believe. We can say all the words we want our actions to show our hearts. In other words, Jesus said if you love me, you will obey me. John 14:15,23 says, and this is Jesus speaking “If you love me, keep my commandments. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode (residence) with him.” That should show how we live our life as well as being a doer when the Holy Spirit nudges you to do whatever God wants you to do.
Every day we should be praising God for what he has done for us. Many people
that do not know God or do not have a relationship with Jesus might not understand what needs to happen to get a better relationship. It is a studying his word and wanting to know Jesus and actually speaking to him. God is waiting for you to want a relationship with him. It is up to you to get your relationship started and let that relationship grow where the Holy Spirit and you are one. It is where the Holy Spirit and your spirit become you and your words are from the Holy Spirit. I sometimes see the words in the spirit just as I am supposed to speak them. This is where you make decisions to further do whatever the Holy Spirit asks you to do or gives you more understanding.
We made one choice to follow Jesus. A relationship that should be extended every day of our life just as our relationship with other family members. The Holy Spirit is part of us, we need to treat him as part of us with respect and “love. “It is something we forget to do each and every day. We need to remind ourselves every day. We are on duty every day. Years ago, I thought taking a vacation meant taking a vacation from everything even God. I found out it was not. God let me enjoy my vacation and even made it better, but he had things for me to do with people that fit in with my vacation. When we follow Jesus and do the things that are asked of us, he blesses us whether it be on vacation or every day of our life. James 1:22-25 says “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth there, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
The perfect law of liberty is where the Holy Spirit is and where that Spirit is there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” If we have the Holy Spirit, we have that same liberty if we are in obedience to the Holy Spirit. This should be what every one of us would want. This is why if we choose Jesus Christ and have chosen the Holy Spirit, we should be thankful every day. I think we forget that no matter what kind of relationship we had with our earthly father, our heavenly Father can be the father you have or are missing. The relationship we have with the Holy Spirit now depends on us.
That is the Thanksgiving we should think about. We need to give thanks for all we have, for the people around us, and for Jesus Christ dying for our sins. That was God’s love shown for all to see. Let’s show our love to him and each other. God Bless.
