We Need to Keep our Focus on Jesus to Overcome our Shortcomings –R Fritz

When we take our focus off from Jesus, we see some of our issues that we have not taken care of. With Jesus, we have somebody in our corner looking to help us. When we choose to take our issues back thinking we can do better or faster, we really think we know better than God. Losing focus gives us the opportunity to learn a lesson or Jesus putting us back down that narrow path so we get back to following Jesus and getting to know him. Matthew 7:13-14 says “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” There are two gates, the gates might look similar, the paths are completely different, one wide, one narrow and the wide gate with the path will lead to eventually eternal death and most people will choose the wide path. You ask why because people will follow people they know or they think know the right path. We have to know Jesus to choose that narrow path. The narrow path is narrow for a reason. There will be few people on it or willing to commit to the righteous life and will not be easy but the narrow path will lead to eternal life. We need to look around and choose the narrow path. You cannot follow other people just because they say they are Christian. Remember you can change the path you are on and your actions will show where you are. You are only responsible for yourself so take that responsibility and choose right.

Our focus should be studying and literally keeping our eyes on Jesus in the spirit. This is what I have chosen to do. It keeps you on course where Jesus wants you to be. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to always tell you when you are going off course if we are listening. Sometimes past issues creep back in our life. Issues you have not been able to completely overcome yet. Sometimes it is the timing when we are supposed to deal with our issues.

When we do not keep our focus Satan will try and let life take us out. He tries to take us back to where we came from and how we tried to deal with our issues on our own. Satan knows if he pushes hard on your past issues, he can bring them back into your future. He knows you like a book. He knows what it takes to set you off. 1 Peter 5:8 says “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Let’s look at

John 10:10 also and this is Jesus speaking “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they might have it more abundantly.”  Satan (the thief)is going to try to steal, kill and destroy man because man is God’s creation. Satan is going to do everything in his power to make sure we disobey God and want us to stop learning God’s nature and lie to us and blame God for the things that have happened in our life. Satan wants us to be like him and take no responsibility for our mistakes. This is Satan’s nature, He wanted to be God.

I hear people tell me they do not believe they hear from God. I questioned somebody who had asked me to pray for them. As I heard their story, I heard that they have heard from God. They just did not know that it was God who was speaking to them. It is interesting that we all hear from Satan but not all of us hear from God. God knew us and who and what we will become before we were born.  Jeremiah 1:4-5 says “Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” Although the Lord was speaking to Jeremiah, he is also speaking to us and knows us, sanctifying us. Let’s go to John 10:27 and this is Jesus speaking “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” We need to learn Jesus’s voice. Animals know their offspring and their offspring have to learn their mother’s voice. This is our Father in heaven whose voice we need to learn.

When we search for Jesus or cry out to Jesus, we will find him. This is more than what I believe, it is what I have seen. You have to want Jesus. Jesus is love and loves everybody. God is a Spirit. John 4:24 says and this is Jesus speaking “God is a Spirit: and they that worship must worship him in spirit and in truth.”  Our spirit and God’s Spirit need to come together.

When Jesus died the Holy Spirit was sent as the Comforter to live in us. John 14:26 says and this is Jesus speaking “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I said unto you.” This is the Spirit spirit, relationship that I talk about. That relationship is a personal relationship where God’s Spirit is the lead with your spirit being surrendered so the Holy Spirit or called Holy Ghost is speaking through you. Your job is to show up on God’s time. The Holy Spirit does what is needed to be done. The Holy Spirit does what I call the heavy lifting, things we cannot do without the Holy Spirit, we speak the words that change the situation.

All of us have choices, we can focus on Jesus and overcome our past once and for all or come and fight that fight on our own. Choose the Holy Spirit and surrender our will and let God Be God through the Holy Spirit and live a blessed life. Choose life through Jesus Christ. God Bless.
