What Happens When You Surrender to the Holy Spirit—R Fritz

I have talked about the choice to surrender our will. It might be scary to not be in control. Most people were not allowed to have a perfect life. Something always happens to test our will because of sin. What I want people to look at is our life now and where we really are with Jesus Christ. I know that most people are not where I am. What I am going to show you I certainly did not set any speed records to get where I am. It has been over 20 years. To progress to being fully surrendered requires you to get through the issues you lived through.

For me to battle through some of my issues was not accomplished until I retired where I had 24 hrs. to focus on what the Holy Spirit wanted me to do. When I say 24 hours, that did not mean I was awake 24 hrs. It meant I was all in and would do whatever the Holy Spirit asked me to do and at hours usually around midnight for a couple of hours. When I was working, I could not operate on only a couple of hours of sleep. That is why overcoming the last issues had to wait until I retired. That also required some help from people who had a better relationship than me. That also changed my relationship. It was me working with the Holy Spirit and dealing with the issues and working through my issues.

I still wake up at midnight whenever the Holy Spirit wants to school me. I do not tell the Holy Spirit I am tired go away. That is a want to do whatever the Holy Spirit wants. He knows me better than I do. This is God he knows what I will do before I do it. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”  The Lord knows you and where you are heading. We just need to trust him.

We have gotten where we are because of us. That might be good or bad depending on you. Let’s now add God as the Holy Spirit in that mix at what you accomplished or what you still want to accomplish. This is God who knows our shortcomings. He is not going to let you fail if you are on a mission for him which could also be something for you. The problem is most people forget to prey or speak to God. They just assume God will bless them. God knows your heart but you need to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit and ask and discuss your why. It is a show of respect and you showing your love for God. God is your Father in heaven. God might be the father you did not have.  The Father that knows you the best.

God thought so much of us that he first sent Jesus to take the consequences for sin being his death. If we do not choose him and choose not to follow and obey Jesus that sentence of eternal death is applied at your death. God always gives us choices. You might not like any of the choices. You have choices and a yes is shown in your actions along with a no seen in your inactions. Nobody can say I did not answer God because I did not say yes or no. He also looks at our hearts. James 1:22-25 says “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” Our just hearing God’s word and not using it in our life is first not believing it either applies to them or not trusting in God. It is trusting in ourselves more than trusting in God.

There are too many that hear the word from somebody else but see no rush to apply it in their lives. Applying God’s word is the one thing that will change your life. If you are expecting a miracle with you doing nothing, good luck it is not coming. If you are not expecting God’s word to change your life you are missing out. 1 Thessalonians 1:5 says “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.” God’s word has power combined with the Holy Ghost will change your life. The Holy Ghost is the difference that makes the “Word” come alive.

This week at a meeting I saw by the words I spoke and talking about truth, that truth came out. At the time I did not know why that happened. I was reminded 2 days later by the Holy Spirit that speaking about the truth caused the truth to come out. The words came out of my mouth they came because of being surrendered and they affected people to say what was on their hearts. That is why words were spoken through you and the Holy Spirit has the power to change lives. The truth spoken by these 2 people was also added by what I knew and added to what was shared with me.

It comes down to you wanting to surrender to the Holy Spirit. The blessings

given you when surrendered you would miss out if you chose not to surrender. Being surrendered is not automatic, it is a choice just like everything that has to do with Jesus Christ. God wanted people who chose him and love him as he loves each one of us. The love shown by us is obeying God. The choice to surrender is one that is chosen every day and at one point becomes your choice forever. You have to do the work. God Bless.
