God Uses Situations to Change You into Who He Wants You to be—R Fritz

Change is what we are going to have to do to get where we need with Jesus Christ. That is not what most of us want to hear nor follow. Sometimes we are pushed into changing. For me, it is part of my life. Situations come up and I am forced to somehow do the best I can just like everybody else.

I had a situation about 3 weeks ago which at the time was different than ever before but I just dealt with it and moved on. This morning I was asking the Holy Spirit what I was going to write about and I was reminded of what really happened that day. I had heard that somebody I know was taken to the hospital and did not want to. I was told this person would not accept any treatment or eat. That concerned me and I called a pastor friend of mine and told him that the hospital was watching a legal suicide. I was really upset when he said that the doctors cannot make anybody take the treatment even if there are mental issues. We prayed and I started thinking about what was going on and said to myself I am not going to let this suicide happen on my watch. I first started making phone calls but with Covid rules, not much could be accomplished. I called somebody I know to see if they could get any information. Nothing happened there either. I was not going to stop there and started to pray in the Spirit to get any information and to speak in the Spirit to move somebody to do something and started to pray for a while and not give up. The next day a phone call came to the person I had called the day before that this person was eating and getting the treatment to save their life. Thank God.

At that time, I just thought I was not going to give up. This morning I started to go over what I had done and thought maybe I was out of line in what I was trying to do. What I did not think about was I was not doing it, the Holy Spirit in me was doing it and had the authority to do it. Ephesians 6:12-13,18 says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” We do not fight people, we fight the battle against spirits fighting in the Spirit against spiritual wickedness. We will never win a spiritual battle by fighting in the flesh, it is like taking a knife to a gunfight, you will always lose.

In my case, it was the Holy Spirit acting through me. I had no clue what was going to happen nor that I would be involved. I knew I was going do something and rock this world in the Spirit for this person to get whatever had to be done to change the outcome. There was not going to be a legal suicide to somebody I know. It was personal for me. We (the Holy Spirit and myself) were going to fight that spiritual wickedness and Satan’s lie. It was doing all I could do than to stand and wait for the results from God. That was the boldness that was given to me by the Holy Spirit. This is why being surrendered and believing in the Holy Spirit and doing what I was led to do make the difference. Because it was personal, I acted forgetting it was the Holy Spirit acting and not just me fighting alone. That is why when the Holy Spirit reminded me of what was done, I thought I was possibly out of line in what I did.

Lots of people believe God will answer their prayers a certain way or for what they ask for. It doesn’t always work out the way we think the answer should be, God knows what is best for us. Many people believe God did not answer their prayer because it was not answered the way they expected so they do not see the answer that God gave them. The thing you might see is God might have given you something better for you than you asked for.

That reminds me of a story that happened about 10 years ago. My television died and I went to a dealer I knew and treated me well. I told him I was looking for a 47” regular television. I had to wait a couple of weeks after I was supposed to receive it. I asked the dealer where my television was and he pointed to where it was. I walked over to look at it and could not find it. He again said and pointed “over there.” I said, “the only television I saw that could be my television was a smart television.” He said, “that’s yours, I said you sure.” He said “Yes.” Well, I knew a smart television was about $150 more than I paid and said “thank you.” I did not ask another question and walked away with a better television. This is what God does for us and we do not ask if this is our gift or answer. He wants to give us his best, we just need to pay attention and ask questions.

We do not understand how God does things or his methods. I have seen some of the ways that God operates in accomplishing what he needs to answer people. People that God trusts are sent to give a personalized answer through the Holy Spirit as well as training people to attain God’s greater plan.  These are, in a lot of cases, people that are not hearing God or are not listening that God sends people to be his mouthpiece. It could be anybody even a guy who lives on the street. Sometimes these people deal with spiritual issues that put people back on track down the narrow path. Our God is big enough and mighty to do what he wants to do and to change any situation by himself. God wants us to be involved and to show our love for our fellow man and to show people who God is and how to get a great relationship with him. I speak of how God does things because he uses me in these capacities. John 14:12, 16 says and this is Jesus speaking “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide (reside) with you for ever;” This is the truth that we can do greater works than Jesus from those who believe in him and have the Comforter (Holy Spirit) that will be with you forever. It is not about you. It’s about the Holy Spirit and you that can do greater things.

I am giving you hope when things look impossible for you or somebody you know and the Holy Spirit having the power and the authority in the Spirit to rock your world and change lives. Get to know the Holy Spirit for your time of need. God Bless.
