When Hope is All We have is When Jesus Shines—R Fritz
When all we have is hope, it becomes a growing time for us. It means we were put in a position of change. That might not be where we want to be but that is where we are. We might not like the situation we were put in it is where God put us. It is the decisions we make after being put in these situations that make us who God meant for us to be. God knows who we will become, we just need to trust the Holy Spirit who was sent to teach us all things. John 14:26 says and this is Jesus’ speaking “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” This is where people get stuck and where we need to believe by reading and studying God’s word. What God has done before was written to show us what is possible. If we do not read what happened years ago how can we trust the things happening to us today can be accomplished through somebody we do not know, God.
This brings us to the point of us beginning to know who God is. This is what got me to a new level when I studied God’s nature and his character. I also studied the words God uses such as love, grace, and righteousness because man has used them to explain things in our life with not the same context or level of use. It was us believing in our knowledge that was not what God meant. The Holy Spirit teaches God’s nature and the meaning that God first established for these words.
My hope is always in Jesus Christ. Terrible things happen, people die before our expected time, and disease shows up and affects our bodies. This is where hope is applied because without it, we are going to give up. I say this because a friend of mine who had cancer was blessed with thirteen more years. The doctors kept telling him if this does not work, we have other options until one day they said we have nothing else. They next told him all they had was hospice. Death and waiting for it to happen was what they had. It made me angry the doctors just dropped dead in his lap and false hope. He put all his hope with the doctors and when they had no more hope he was on his own.
False hope does not happen with Jesus Christ. When you choose Jesus Christ and follow and obey him, he is our hope, one that lives into eternal life and when we see him in heaven. The Holy Spirit is what gives us that hope no matter what we go through. This is what I learned when people die before their time. God has a plan and a reason for people to go at a particular time. We might feel God failed us, but we do not know why in our time of grief. Sometimes God knows what would happen if our loved ones stayed on earth. Our goal is heaven and if God takes people early for whatever reason and they make it to heaven. They made it and we should be happy. This is not me knowing why each person died and if they made it. It is God showing people through me some reasons. I say this because after my son died, I asked God why my son was taken at thirty-three years old. Two days later God answered me. I have written when you are looking for the truth, you will find it when you are ready for the truth. The answer was given and I chose to accept it at that time because it was more than my understanding was at that time. I believed what I was told and will wait to see in heaven.
Satan also has his hands in death. He operates through people all the time spiritually. Satan is the father of lies and he will tell you it was God who took our family member or friend early. This is Satan whispering in our ear. John 8:44 says and this is Jesus, speaking “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode (resides) not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” Satan may sound like God and if we do not have that relationship, we might not know for sure who is talking to us.
Jesus says his sheep know his voice. John 10:27-28 says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Our flesh may not know Jesus’s voice but the Holy Spirit lives in us. This is the problem I see with people is that the Holy Spirit is in us, but we do not know his voice. We have not attempted in good faith to take our relationship to the next level. We wonder why we do not hear from the Holy Spirit when we do not talk to God only when we really need him. Every day is an opportunity to talk about what God has for us to do for him. It is talking about God’s work and watching how he positions us in a place to talk to somebody that needs to hear about his hope with the person seeing the love of God through us.
For most of our lives, we have trusted ourselves and our hope is with us or some other person. It is our plan and has to work, there was nothing else. When Jesus Christ came into our life, we were ready for something else. Life was not what it used to
be. Life changes around us, it is us that does not want to change. Jesus Christ has everything that can help us. Jesus accepts us with open arms because we have a repentant heart. Our heart was changed, which changes our thinking. This action of our heart changing gave us the “hope” that changes our thinking and our actions. There are always choices to make how much of God do we really want. These choices are ongoing because God does not force things. He gave us free will and will not take it away from us. We are in charge of moving our relationship with God through interacting with God. When the Holy Spirit arrives, it teaches us through the Bible and is our moral compass.
When people see the Holy Spirit in us or how we react with others, they finally believe through their spirit that they can finally have the happiness that they have been looking for. This is the “Hope” and the only hope that is real and lasts forever through eternal life. No matter what happens to us or our family our hope is always with God. God Bless.
