When we get Knocked Down in Life we Jump Back Up—R Fritz
Life has a way to knock us off our feet. Whether it is physical or mental, life changes our outlook. It changes how we see things. We choose how we will live our life. Our relationship with God gives us the ability to want to get up. Without God, there is no hope. No way for a lot of people to get up and believe we can succeed in life. We get in a rut because we do not have any dreams or a plan to succeed because we are not asking God what and who we can be. I hear people say now they are bored, that is because we are in that rut and do not have anything to look forward to when we have to do meaningless tasks. We are looking at only what we are doing at the present and not thinking about the good things we can have in the future. Romans 8:24-25 says “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hopes for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” Hope is what we do not see or our dreams or our wants that give us a reason to do things we do not want to do. Hope is the reason we keep on going when the odds are against us, and it seems like everybody is against us.
Jesus Christ was the Savior that was sent to deliver us from sin. He is the hope we have because if we choose him and obey him, we will have eternal life. If we believe in Jesus Christ hope comes with that belief, without that hope we can only believe in ourselves. Before our knowledge of Jesus, we listened to other men with more knowledge than us, which was the best knowledge we have until Jesus came. When we choose to follow Jesus, our spiritual knowledge comes alive with the Holy Spirit showing us the wisdom from the Bible. We have the Bible that comes alive. I have seen the words and verses come off the paper and actually move past me. This is the wisdom that only comes from God. When we press in on God and his things, we learn the things God needs for us to be able to perform whatever the Holy Spirit has planned for us.
If we do not get up when we get knocked down, Satan begins to whisper in our ears and begins to tell us negative words. It is easy to believe Satan because we do not feel good about ourselves. We operate by how we feel and do not know that if we were not listening to Satan and hearing his lies, we would begin to see the shining light from other people that are sent by the Holy Spirit to change our outlook. I saw it last weekend when I was at a church service, and somebody came in from on the street after the service. This person had spiritual issues and was prayed for and fell on the floor. In this case, God wanted to refresh and get rid of the spirits but this person jumped to their feet and let the spirit take over. We were born into sin, and we have to make a choice for God and leave the sin life. We do not know the truth until either God sends somebody to give us the good news or we find out on our own. This person is stuck in a rut, knows the truth but chooses to stay in that rut. This happens when we give up and turn our life over to Satan’s lies. It is a process when we give in to sin and the consequences of it. We either choose Jesus and the Holy Spirit or live our own life where Satan wants to control it without our knowledge and consent through sin. In other words, our actions have consequences good or bad.
I was just told of a story about a young person that died a short time ago that lived in a car for the first 12 years of their life and had nothing growing up, yet they became the most giving person. They believed our country was the greatest country in the world because they were allowed to better their self. In spite of their childhood, had a personality that drew people to them. A person that was the first to volunteer, a leader of their faith, a friend to many, and an inspiration to even more. A person God endowed with many attributes and knew Jesus and loved their neighbor as their self as Jesus taught. They were knocked down right when their life started but did not use that as an excuse to fail. They saw opportunities with a good attitude. A person I wish I would have known. A person God took early for a reason.
We all have a history, all of us have been knocked down. Jesus came to show us how to act, how to change if we want to be like him. We cannot change or follow Jesus by ourselves, we need the Holy Spirit to overcome the flesh and our enemy Satan. We have a choice to follow Jesus through the Holy Spirit with all of our hearts. Revelation 3:15-16 says, and this is Jesus, speaking “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou were cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.” Jesus wants us to take a stand and not be wishy-washy. Our heart is what shows God where we are because if we love God, we will obey him.
We know the feeling of being knocked down. When somebody comes along to give us an option to a way to change our life and win this battle with our enemy Satan, we should be all in. All into me meant I was going to do whatever it took to win this war with Satan. That was to follow Jesus, study, write, and obey. Doing these things brought me closer to God and the questions I asked were answered. That is my goal which by doing what God asks also gets me what I want or need. I will serve my God first and he will take care of me. God will make sure if I am knocked down, he will get me back up. Psalms 37:24-25 says “the Lord orders the steps of a good man: and he delighteth in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” The choice is ours the Lord will hold us up, we need to make our own choice to be all in. God Bless.
