Change and Our Relationship with the Holy Spirit—R Fritz
Most people do not like change because the change did not come from them, and they have a trust issue with the Holy Spirit. When we trust it becomes easy to start something and change as we go. I enjoy hunting and decide to hunt a particular area but when I get so far, my plans need to change and go a different direction then they need to change in a different direction again, that is because the Holy Spirit is directing me to where the birds are. I can believe in myself or trust the Holy Spirit. I saw where the Holy Spirit knocked a bird down as I had shot and missed. If we invite the Holy Spirit into what we are doing, we will be surprised at how much fun we will have as well as succeed in the goal we are trying to achieve. I have just noticed in the last week about changing direction as the Holy Spirit sends me in a direction where I get success where other people do not. We forget to ask the Holy Spirit to be involved in our life.
What people do not understand is change becomes our friend if the Holy Spirit is involved. We do not see things that way because we are looking in the flesh and are not looking into the Spirit. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Our mind is renewed with the Holy Spirit that lives in us so why can’t we see in the Spirit; it is our relationship with the Holy Spirit. We decide what we can do with the Holy Spirit. Life is short why not get close with God through the Holy Spirit? My job is to let people know what life is like with the Holy Spirit. We fight change without even looking at the change from all angles. When I say it from all angles it is with our spiritual eyes. We are trying to live life on our own, dealing with issues that have been with us for a long time. The Holy Spirit knows a better way with better results, and we just want to keep doing it our way.
We need to learn from our mistakes so our past can be changed into a better life. We all have issues from our past, mine I have dealt with the Holy Spirit’s help. It was not easy, fear being one that took years to completely overcome, I had help from a lot of people, people the Holy Spirit sent to help, there were other issues that were also part of my past about which I have not talked. Some were major issues that affected me my whole life that were not my fault. When I talk about lies Satan told me to believe things about my past. When I found out the truth, I was angry with Satan and what he did. John 8:44 says and this is Jesus, speaking “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” Satan is the father of lies and lies to us all the time. We need to learn the Holy Spirit’s voice versus Satan’s voice in my case it was what I heard all my life up to that point. We also must wait for God’s timing when we need to deal with some of our issues, I had to live with this issue until the time came for me to deal with it when I saw something was not right with myself, I asked God for help he sent a friend.
When we get through our issues, we can be the ones the Holy Spirit sends when people need help. That is where I am at and have been sent places for years. Because I have dealt with issues from my past, I can deal with issues other people have that the Holy Spirit wants me to help with. We can also be the ones to give advice because of the things we have been through. It all comes down to when the time was right, the Holy Spirit showed me how to overcome my past and I embraced what needed to be done.
Change starts at the heart because the Holy Spirit is what will change our hearts. Our heart shows with our mouth or through our actions who we are. The heart is also where our thoughts come from. Ezekiel 36:26 says, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” The stony heart was the heart where God’s love could not reside and needed to be replaced with a heart of flesh, this heart changes our thought process if we let it. Our new heart given with the new spirit the Holy Spirit changes us. We still have a choice to override what the Holy Spirit wants us to do. It is up to us to surrender our will every day and if we do that, we overcome our feelings that override the Holy Spirit.
We are in control of our future, and we cannot blame somebody else where we are in our lives. It requires us to make the right decision, one that includes the Holy Spirit. It is a change from our past life. If you trust the Holy Spirit, it will change your life and make life easier. Trust God’s change. God Bless.
