Every One of us is Different so Let God Make Us Who He Wants Us to Be—R Fritz
I write about the things that happen to me or what God has shown me as I go through my life. That is different from what God is showing the rest of us. We are not all the same because our life is not the same nor do we go through the same things in life. We might be similar in some things we have been through. We do not like the same things and our personalities are different. Why would we think God would treat us the same as we are not alike? He knows us completely, what we like, what it will take for us to change, who we will become, and every hair on our head. Matthew 10:28-31 says “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” God numbered the hairs on our heads for a reason we are all valuable to God and he wants to show us how well he knows us.
It should make us closer to God especially as the Holy Spirit gives us God’s characteristics as we accept them and apply them by surrendering our old habits and thoughts where the Holy Spirit blends with us as our thoughts are downloaded as we talk. That is how we can do more, and God can use us as the Father used Jesus to show us who we can become. Notice I said “who we can become” because that is on us. My question to everybody who has chosen Jesus is “What do we want from Jesus and are we willing to help Jesus or is it our understanding that we just pray, and everything will be given to us?” That is not the way God and the Holy Spirit work in that the Holy Spirit came to teach us all things, it was not to give us all things. John 14:26 says and this is Jesus’ speaking “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” The Holy Spirit came to help us to become who God wanted us to be. He did not come to teach us to be all the same or all like me.
He chose us and gave us purpose, God’s purpose for us. When we find out what purpose God has for us and we start to do it, it will make us happy and fulfilled. In my case, it is leaving my house in my vehicle for something I need to do yet the Holy Spirit has a plan, and it happens as I do what I need to do being where the Holy Spirit needs me to be. It is unbelievable to see what happens when we let the Holy Spirit manage our lives and our schedule. When our life has God’s purpose, we become happy with what the world does to us. With God’s purpose, we still have some bad days. We are reminded of the happy days and that gets us through the bad days which is our hope and peace which comes through the Holy Spirit. John 14:27 says and this is Jesus’ speaking “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” This is God’s peace, the peace that when we are battling something in our life, we are still able to do what we need to do. Our heart is involved in our decisions and is swayed both ways like a pendulum on a clock as we are going through our thought process. This peace only comes from the Holy Spirit! Are we afraid to ask for this peace, it is given freely.
Maybe an easy way to think of our relationship with God through the Holy Spirit is to remember he is our Father, and we are his children. We ask before we do things, we do not go on automatic as we have in the past. What I tell people is when things are not going our way, it is time to think about changing what we are doing such as spending more time in the Bible as I am asking the Holy Spirit to show us what I need to look at or study. It might come to us as we open the Bible up where we are supposed to start or suddenly, we get that thought about where to go in the Bible. It gets back to our belief, faith, and trust in Jesus and our belief he will do what he said in the Bible. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” We must seek God through the Holy Spirit with all our hearts as God is a reward of those who seek him because it shows God our faith. It is impossible to move God without faith so if things are not going our way, we need to look at our faith and if we are giving God credit for the things that happen in our life. One thing I do is thank God through the Holy Spirit for the small things that happen in my life such as being in a hurry going someplace in my car and there being green traffic lights for many lights. We might not even think about that, but I thank the Holy Spirit, which shows my faith and belief in God.
We all are different for a reason because we are meant to talk to people that only we can change through our personality and our God-given gifts. Do not cut ourselves short of who we are especially since the Holy Spirit lives in us which makes us able to do greater things than we were able to do without the Holy Spirit. Our mentality on who we are needs to change. We are not the same person who had a conversation with Jesus and gave our life to him. We are people whose gifts are able for us to become that special person that the Holy Spirit can use as we surrender our will. Let us be all we can be. God Bless.
