Spiritual Health and Our Physical and Mental Health—R Fritz

Spiritual health has to do with us believing in ourselves verses believing God will look after us and knows what is best for us. Consequences or benefits happen because of the decisions we make. Look at what happens to people in the world that do not have a spiritual life and live exclusively on their knowledge. God’s people have the benefit of eternal life and God’s wisdom with the Bible to give us the resources to become who we are meant to be. We receive blessings sometimes because God just wants to give them to us without a reason or sometimes, we have obeyed God, and we are blessed. It comes down to change as we came to Jesus as we were speaking that we would repent for our sins and our past life. If we did not repent (turn from) we are still living our old life. The words that were spoken were words that we could not live up to or we spoke words somebody told us to speak. Either way we need to believe in Jesus to move forward to repent and let the Holy Spirit change our thinking and our life.

We either think righteous or evil thoughts, when we have the Holy Spirit, our thoughts are righteous. 1 Thessalonians 5:15-24 says “See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” This is what we should do concerning our spiritual life. This will keep us holy until Jesus comes back. We still need the Holy Spirit in our lives to be able to do these things. We cannot do what we need without the Holy Spirit. Our past life showed we cannot do the things just from what we learned from life; it requires more. When the Holy Spirit is telling us what to do and we do what we are told it is God’s will that we have on our side with us seeing the results we ask for. When I thought I failed what God wanted me to do, the Holy Spirit told me that I did not. That is the point that I saw because I looked at what my eyes saw and not in the Spirit.

Our physical and mental health will change especially when our relationship with Holy Spirit gets us closer with the Holy Spirit. Those that spend the time to study, pray and obey when the Holy Spirit needs something are given blessings and see miracles. I say that because that happens to me, as I have seen many miracles for a while thought that what I saw was normal until somebody started to tell me about their miracles, and I realized what I saw was miracles. It was not me saying what I saw was miracles it was doctors who said what I saw was miracles. It is for me seeing what God does for me and to thank all what I see God do for me as well as other people. We have a God that spreads out blessings to many people. Most people do not even realize that they were blessed. Ephesians 1:3-8,11,13 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace: Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” These verses speak of the blessings given to us. There are many as we can read with what we were blessed. We should always give our thanks to God through the Holy Spirit even the small things.

Our bodies are the temple for the Holy Spirit so why would we abuse them. Romans 12:1-2 says “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We must

renew our mind through the Holy Spirit to discern the will of God. My question to people is how do we know the will of God? It is through our relationship with the Holy Spirit and getting to know him because the Holy Spirit talks to us through our thoughts (our spirit). I have also heard God speak actual words about a handful of times. The Holy Spirit is a Spirit so that is how he speaks to us, and we can to him. I have prayed for people in the spirit to the Holy Spirit as I am standing face to face with them. We need to understand who the Holy Spirit is and how he operates to know how we should communicate with him.

God can do what he wants and does, we on the other hand through our words curse ourselves as well as other people we know. We have physical or mental issues because we choose what we do and speak. It is speaking to God last; down our list of people we choose to listen to when we should go to God first with every issue we have. Our choices decide what happens or where we end up. Faith and trust show through our actions. If we choose God first, spend our time praying and being the person who thinks about other people and doing God’s will, our physical and mental life will change. Be the person who comes to study first and be the last to leave, God is watching. God Bless.
