God Needs us to be Warriors in Our Own Way—R Fritz

God is looking for us to step up to be the person he sees in us. What are we waiting for? We are making excuses or forgetting about God. God is still waiting, he has patience. Our relationship or lack thereof with God is why we do not hear from God. Are we paying attention when the Holy Spirit speaks to us or do, we know his voice? We are too busy until we need God. One thing I learned was to learn from my mistakes, so I did not have to go through the same things more than once, which is what happens to us. I even asked God why I had to go through the same things more than once, but he did not answer. I knew God had a reason, it had to do with character building, he is telling me now. Character building is what God does, we must see what God is trying to do to help him. Romans 5:3-5 says, “And not only so: but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience, and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Tribulation builds character through patience, experience adds hope. The love of God through the Holy Ghost is given for our strength which is given to change our character. It is asking the Holy Spirit why things happen; it gets back to “why” which I wrote about a while back.

It gets down to change from how we were when we chose Jesus to who we are to become. The question is how many times we must go through the same things before we catch on. It is asking for his understanding to see what God is doing in our lives. We do not see what God is doing because that is not normal for us. We need to put God first and keep him first to change how our life is going. Our life is controlled by us and our decisions. When we make a bad decision, what should we do? The answer is to ask the Holy Spirit with the belief he will answer our question. What we do not understand is the Holy Spirit speaks through our thoughts. So, when we ask the Holy Spirit a question, we focus on our thoughts to hear the answer. John 10:27-30 says, and this is Jesus’ speaking “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man can pluck them out of my Father’s hand, I and the Father are one.” Jesus says his followers hear his voice, he knows us, and we obey. If we do not know the Holy Spirit’s voice start praying to learn his voice, that is on us to know it.

God has a plan for each of us and we are destined to become who God wants if we want to. It is a choice we make and then follow when we trust the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our teacher which makes us students. We have the Holy Spirit to live in us who knows all yet we ask men. Jesus left so the Holy Spirit could come to give us the ability to obey God by surrendering our will. When we surrender our will, the Holy Spirit will give us the ability to become that warrior. We must want to surrender, or our life will not change, we will battle with the same things we always have. It is the training from the Holy Spirit that we learn to fight Satan and his schemes. It also gives us the ability to see how Satan uses other people and how to deal with them. These are things I have learned that make me special in my way. We all have abilities we have not used yet. It gets back to getting God’s plan for us. We could be prayer warriors, fight spirits, or could be both for our families. Our life will not change without us finding out what God’s plan is for us. It fulfills our life and will give us a reason to get up happy every morning no matter what our circumstances are.

We can drag our feet to follow and give our life to Jesus when it comes to the choice we were supposed to make years back. Yes, God will give us grace for not holding up our end of the deal we made with God. The choice we made was a winner no matter who we were, and we did not like the status of our life whether financially, physically, or mentally. We all have reasons we chose Jesus; Jesus gave me more back than I could have ever thought about asking for, the difference for me was I asked God if he would do something for me, I would do whatever he asked. I stood by what I had said and still do, and I did not know God at that time. I took a chance with Jesus; it certainly is the greatest decision I ever made with the result being eternal life which is not why I chose Jesus.

What we do has everything to do with our character, which is why we go through things more than once, God calls it character building. James 1:3-6 says “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraided not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For him, that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” We cannot blame somebody else for the situations we get into or how our life is going because God’s wisdom is there to ask for our faith, and patience builds our character. Let our character become the warrior the Holy Spirit can use. God Bless.
