Our Strength Lies in Our Quiet and Holiness Not Loudness—R Fritz
People think of being quiet and under control as a weakness when it is a strength. Loudness draws attention to us which draws people and Satan into our life. Jesus did not put on a big show and was not loud until he needed to be. He always traveled in small groups to a space where the enemy did not know what would happen before it happened, which at that time drew a big crowd so nobody could change what was supposed to happen. When we travel for God, we focus on our purpose and not draw attention to ourselves where it is a secret until our purpose is exposed. People have no clue what quiet people think or what they will do. Isaiah 30:15 says, “For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.” That quietness gives us humbleness where we can hear the Holy Spirit and learn and then know his voice.
We choose the way we carry ourselves or our actions when people disagree with us and choose to bully or try to control us. We can attack them or try to reason with these people and in some cases when we cannot change their minds we can listen and battle at a different time as the Holy Spirit hears what is said and brings back to us what was said. The reason I try to understand them is that what I say or do affects other people and their lives. It isn’t that I do not want to battle more or would like to tell them what I think because my first thought is to act in that way with anger while my next thought is to think about the people who I represent and my words and actions affecting their life. We can also tell them what we think which does not work in a lot of situations. I was in a situation where because somebody else did not like what somebody did and I took the position they had, I received the rath that the person before me should have received. When I think I have seen a lot, something weirder happens. I should know better with whom I serve. My secret weapon being the Holy Spirit gets to deal with them and though I might not see how the Holy Spirit deals with them I know it will be taken care of. It is also me fighting in the spirit to change the circumstances and the person even expecting an apology because with the Holy Spirit, all things are possible. This is a spiritual battle that is won in the spirit. Our feelings get hurt and we automatically fight in the flesh with words and actions that can hurt somebody and most of the time we lose, I learned that from my experiences. Ephesians 6:11-13 says “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” This is the point I want to make; loudness may show power in the flesh it does not in the spirit. We are fighting spirits, so we need to put on our spiritual armor from God every day and then stand. It does not say we should argue with people.
We are supposed to be the example from God with the Holy Spirit to show us how to react or to do nothing, then stand. The battle is fought in the spirit and won in the spirit as it is played out on earth. When we think we can bully or intimidate people, it is when spirits show us that behavior and we believe it will work. The reason people are not afraid of quiet people is they do not see the Holy Spirit or the angels sometimes around us. Evil spirits intimidate people through harsh words and actions which bring in fear. When the Holy Spirit speaks through us, evil spirits are bound (made worthless) or are removed from people through the words of the Holy Spirit. Mark 1:23-27 says “And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Saying, let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Hold thy peace, and come out of him.” When Jesus left Earth, the Holy Spirit came to teach us all things, the things of God.
The Holy Spirit is love and the Spirit of truth. If we do not have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, we lose out on the wisdom and understanding that can and will change our lives. We do not know what we are missing from that decision without the Holy Spirit and how our lives will change. The Holy Spirit is the peace in our lives that gets us through the things we cannot change. We add our feelings and with that happening we go through anguish more than we must. It is the trust of the Holy Spirit that saves us from the things that the people of the world must go through. Our quietness is rewarded because our love shows if the Holy Spirit lives in us it is the love of the Holy Spirit that shines through us and gives others the hope that they might also have a better life. When God gives us hope it changes our life forever because it comes with love, grace, and mercy. There are few times when Jesus raised his voice, he did not have to, he had all the authority as God to know what each situation needed. We have the Holy Spirit with that same authority to deal with the people around us who think they have more authority than us through intimidation.
Let love be the answer when people do not do as we ask. The Holy Spirit is who teaches us right and wrong. It also teaches us to do the right thing when things go bad. Forgiveness changes the situation as it gets our thoughts and hurt feelings back on track to love again. Matthew 6:14 says “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:” Sometimes we need to show people the right way to act.Let love and Holiness be our guide. God Bless.
