With Our Life on the Line, Change is not a Priority for Some—R Fritz

I see many people who are wondering why their physical or mental health does not change. It comes because we need to ask God the questions to get started then to believe what God says. It always starts with us asking God for knowledge. If we are not feeling well that makes for a long day, week, or life. It gets hard to think if we are focusing on our health. That is why we should think about changing our doctor or how our doctor approaches our physical or mental issues. What I have seen is people who have more than one doctor who are given pills without asking what other pills are being taken. This person could not speak because two pills should never be taken together, it took a few days before this person could speak only through a stutter then back to normal again. Do we keep doing the same things when things health wise are not changing?

God has a plan for each of us, that plan includes our physical and mental health. The choices we have made have consequences for us. Those consequences do not have to be a life sentence because our God gives grace and mercy. We do not have to accept what physical issues we have sometimes, it is our thinking that needs to be changed. Psalm 103:2-5,8,11 says “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemed thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous (abounding) in mercy. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.” Remember the LORD’s benefits, these are for all that fear God. These are not just words they represent who God is. To all that reads this your blessing awaits. Our prayer should be to recite this Psalm and ask for our healing. I said to God over twenty years ago what I wanted and said that I would do whatever he asked. I meant it and God has blessed me health wise. We forget what we have said in times of trouble.

When I saw what God was capable of, I did not forget God every day and what I am asked to do. Every decision I make includes God through the Holy Spirit. We wonder why God does not appear to be helping us when we forget to ask before we get involved in our health issues. We made decisions that did not include the Holy Spirit thinking we could go alone without God being present. The interesting part of our thinking is God was there we just did not use him. Deuteronomy 31:6,8 says “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee, fear not, neither be dismayed.” Again, the LORD goes before us and does not forsake us. We forget about God that comes from us letting Satan having a say once we get bad news.

Satan watches and sees how we react to negative news. Matter in fact Satan uses our words then plants things into our thoughts. We believe our thoughts without filtering them and those thoughts that do not match the characteristics of Jesus or what the Holy Spirit informs us should be discarded immediately. We hang on to thoughts too long for them to become what we believe then put in motion in our lives. Because we let Satan get a foothold in our lives, we start to believe things that appear to be true when they are lies or half-truths, that is what Satan wants for us. We believe too much what comes from people, people do not have the wisdom our God does. It is easy to believe people as we need to investigate information where the Holy Spirit is involved in truth, God’s truth. It is time to get ahold of our thoughts then build on what the Holy Spirit has planned for us. Our focus should be on us asking questions about our future being able to step out in faith. With the Holy Spirit our future can become possible where without God it was impossible.

We need to have faith because without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:1,6 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he, that cometh to God must believeth that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Faith is stepping out with a God inspired goal believing that it will happen without evidence to back up our goal. It is trusting God with all our heart and seeing in our spirit what God has as a result for us as we go through. Hebrews 11 speaks about faith where people in the Bible used their faith as examples for us to do the same or more. Faith is what is missing in our lives because if we do not see it, we cannot believe it can happen.

I hear from people who are waiting on God to do something. What I have seen is if God has a plan without that faith, you are not going to move. It requires us to step out moving towards what God has given us and a goal we can see without a direct path where we must trust God with all our heart. That is a big step for many people as doing nothing gets us nothing as we will be waiting on God years later. A lot of times I step out to see if God has his hand in what I see either I keep moving or I stop at that point to see if is from God. Our health works the same way. Why would we keep doing something that does not change our quality of life? Stepping out in faith with us thinking and moving out of the box (different than most people) will give us a better quality of life. Let us move with faith and trust in the Lord. God Bless.
