What are Our Gifts and Talents and How are We Using them—R Fritz

We have all been given different gifts and talents. Saying and believing that, we should find out what they are so we can use them for God. Many of us have talents we have used all our life, knowing that we should thank God and ask how God wants us to use them for God’s glory. It is about us thinking about God and how we can serve him. God is waiting for us to speak to him and ask the questions to change our life. We wonder why we do not get answers it is because we need to get serious, need to spend more time praying, need to reach out to God through the Holy Spirit and do what he asks from us. It is studying the Bible to find out what we should do so we are ready when we need wisdom to get through troubling times. We struggle because we are trying to get answers quickly and without them go on our own wisdom when we are trying to reach out. We need to trust that the Holy Spirit will give us words or wisdom when we need it. I was taught by the Holy Spirit to go where I am needed, the words and what I need would be there with me because I am not going to fail on something God wants done. Luke 12:11-12 says “And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say. For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.”  The Holy Ghost will give us what we need. The Holy Ghost taught me to trust, and I would receive exactly what I needed. I have been in many different situations where my trust becomes larger after each situation.

God will use our gifts and talents; things God gave us to show us who we are. When I looked back, I saw spiritual things I saw at a young age and had no clue what I was seeing at that time. God knows exactly what gifts we have, when we start to become who God wants us to be we will see some of the gifts we have and suddenly, we see increasingly more. I was speaking to somebody about what people do not see, we can say we are going to serve God, at some point it comes down to us to ask our God how we proceed waiting for that answer then doing exactly as we are told and following God’s plan through the Holy Spirit. We cannot do anything without faith. You might ask how do I get faith? Faith comes from hearing the word of God. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” When we read or hear the word of God we hear and believe the stories in the Bible. That is why faith comes from hearing where people speak of the things that happen to them that God has done for them or people we know, we start to believe what God can do as well as his character. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” If we have no faith nothing will happen with God, and that is why before knowing God we were lacking a belief in who God was. The battle we have is confidence or belief in ourselves. We have Satan, our enemy, telling us as well as our enemy using people to tell us we cannot do anything and after we hear the same for a while we believe that lie.

Discernment as a spiritual gift is where we can see and know good from evil, we see things before they happen, it is the ability to look at situations and see what God’s truth is spiritually, seeing spirits and dealing with them and deception. Those with discernment can know with confidence because the Holy Spirit moves them to act with God’s wisdom and understanding. 1 John 4:1-3 says “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out in the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”  Discernment is so important in our lives as we can be taken advantage of, as well as churches because Satan wants to deceive and cause chaos in our lives, the Holy Spirit gives us a check in our spirit when something is not right. That check gives us to question what is happening in front of us. We that have the gift must see that check in our spirit and react to change what needs attention.

I got up early this morning not knowing that I would text somebody as I had to wait for a reasonable hour to do that, so I had to wait a few hours to send. The last statement I made was “people do not change for no reason. You must want to change or see the other side of an issue.” Sometimes people just want someone to listen and understand them or hear a different story on how Jesus changed their life. It is listening to the Holy Spirit and showing people God’s truth. We need to be ourselves and let the Holy Spirit use our gifts to change someone’s thinking. God Bless.
