When is it Time to Speak up when Somebody Disrespects Us with Negative Words—R Fritz
We have people who think they can intimidate or bully us into doing what they want us to do; they want to control us. At some point it becomes time to let them know they need to back off. That does not necessarily mean we personally confront them. It is time to ask God, if we have not asked before now what to do. It is never a good idea to rush with words unless the Holy Spirit tells us to. It calls for a plan, a plan designed by the Holy Spirit. With any plan let the Holy Spirit work on the details and what we will say or do with the timing on the Holy Spirit. Our job is to just show up with the Holy Spirit, giving us the words to speak. We must trust God for the outcome we desire because God has our back covered. Psalms 91:2-5,11 says “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome (deadly) pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler (small shield). Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” His truth shall be our shield; God truly has us covered.
I went to a meeting last week with little to add where everybody was good except me. It was a meeting where everybody was a volunteer. This person started to tell me I needed to do something or there would be consequences. Complaining about people that were under my control last year at an event. At that point I did not answer their complaints. There was a Board meeting the next week at which I kept asking the Holy Spirit if I should go and report how I was disrespected. The day before the Board meeting I asked the Holy Spirit if this other person who said that they might come along did not go to the meeting, that is what would tell me that I needed to go myself. This is where faith comes in because the question was asked and answered by the Holy Spirit. Do we believe that God would send me some place where he does not want me to be? Where I go the Holy Spirit also goes because he lives inside me where we (the Holy Spirit and me) are one as he will guide me and will not put me in a place or position where he does not want us to be. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” I believed and trusted God to speak the words he knew would make people change. I went to this Board meeting and spoke the words I was given. I talked about that I teach respect and my treatment was disrespect and I will have none of that. I also said that I have no support from anybody on the Board. Nobody spoke until another issue I had to speak about; the presence of God demands that in this case where God has sent me with respect. Personally, I did not want to go to the meeting because most people do not like confrontation, including me where I go because that is what the Holy Spirit wants.
Words are so powerful because speaking negative words into people over time will program their mind to believe them. I see that trait in people as I speak to them. It is then I start to speak positively for them to believe in themselves. I heard negative words for a part of my life, so when I hear them that upsets me. It upset me because somebody spoke those words to them, it goes back to their childhood and it goes back generations where only Jesus could change that curse. That is also somebody trying to kill our soul where somebody keeps speaking negative words over us until they break our soul with a worthless feeling as we are just getting by in life. We feel we cannot do anything right with no confidence. We probably have a job where we feel no ability to get an upgraded job. We have millions of people that fit this life. Now is time to tell these people they are winners even though we or they cannot see it yet. We speak to their spirit as we build up their soul because we are spiritual. What people do not know we speak life or death into people. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” We will be held accountable for our words, and our fruit will show who we are. On judgement day those words and how they affected somebody will be shown to us. To those who speak blessings into somebody’s life will be blessed through life.
I know what it takes to get out of the mire or mud we are in, not being able to see a way out because I was there. I was trying to get out but could not see how to get out until I stepped out in faith before I knew God or what faith was. God sent people to help me and fought the spiritual battles to give me a chance to see what I was up against and a hand up out of that mire I was stuck in. Satan had me and did not want to lose me because he knew who I was going to become once I knew the truth. It has taken me years to get me where I see spiritually where people are. I have never forgotten where I came from nor the people along the way that pushed me hard to become who I am. That is why when God sends me somewhere where I do not necessarily want to go, I remember the mire and mud I was stuck in and who God sent to help me where I might have to get back into that mud where I was once at and give a hand up to help somebody get out. When I go into battle, I let no one know my mission until the Holy Spirit unleashes me at a particular time for his glory. I am the most insignificant person there until the Holy Spirit unleashes me, becoming the most significant person for him. When we look back in the Bible that is who God used, people who showed nothing special and turned them into somebody special because they believed in God and surrendered all. Remember who we are chosen, forgiven, loved and accepted people. 1 Peter 2:9 says “But we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who have called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” Never forget who we are as the Holy Spirit guides us through all that the world wants to throw at us as we are never alone. Believe in ourselves because the Holy Spirit lives in us because we are special. We can put our hand down to give somebody a hand up to help them see the truth to change one life. God Bless.
