Why Despair, Depression, and Hopelessness—R Fritz
These are spiritual issues that are solved with our relationship with Jesus Christ. You can go to a doctor who can give you pills to try to help you, or ask Jesus Christ for help in prayer. That is everybody’s choice. The answers to all our problems are in the Bible. You might not believe that. Our God sees us struggling; we just need to ask for help. Psalms 34:18-19,22 says “The Lord is nigh unto them that are broken in heart; and saveth such as a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” The Lord is near to people who are brokenhearted and have a repentant spirit. He will deliver you from your afflictions; we just need to trust him. Most people trust in themselves, but do not put all their trust in Jesus Christ. When we build something, we need a solid foundation and build from there. That foundation comes from reading the Bible, putting Jesus Christ at the center, and building on that. That foundation, if started right and you believe and trust in Jesus Christ, can be added to like building blocks. Satin or the things you go through will not stop you from spiritually growing and gaining knowledge. Reading and studying are ways to grow, because with the Holy Spirit, it will constantly bring you more knowledge and deeper trust in the Bible and in revelation about what you have already read.
Depression is a spirit. That is the first thing that everybody needs to understand. That is your enemy. An enemy that Satan controls. A spiritual enemy that doctors are trying to kill or overcome. You have to be spiritual to kill or get rid of spirits. This explains the battle from those who battle depression. You are in the fight of your life spiritually. Spirits are commanded by Satan. The spirit of depression exists, and despair and hopelessness are the symptoms and spirits that are under the spirit of depression as far as order in Satan’s army. These spirits are so subtle, they just blend it as part of us. You have to be spiritual to see spiritual things.
Satin knows the Bible. He will try to mimic God. He will quote scripture from the Bible and purposely leave out words or change others, speaking to you. I know because I caught him a number of times where the Holy Spirit reminded me what the Bible actually said. I would tell Satin, I caught you. Now you know the truth.
This is how the Holy Spirit explained it to me early this morning. Depression gets us to dwell on the things going around us and speaking to us about our life, we start believing what these spirits tell us, and look at how bad our life is. These spirits have torment that goes with them. It gets down to you believing in the spirit of depression and the other spirits that go with it, or instead, you believe in Jesus Christ. The truth in the Bible tells you who you are because of your decision to be with Jesus Christ forever. The mind is the battlefield where all this takes place, and we need to guard it with scripture before the spirits can overcome us with thoughts they claim are from our minds. This is how these spirits deceive us. The Holy Spirit gives us the knowledge to see and test the spirits and those thoughts. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We have to renew our minds through the Holy Spirit. We have to discern what we see spiritually to see if it is good, acceptable, and the perfect will of God.
Because of us being born with sin, we are destined to die because of that. In the Old Testament, sin was atoned for through the sacrifice of animals. Once Jesus Christ died, he was the final sacrifice needed. The price of sin was paid for once and for all. We once had a spiritual relationship with God and lost it because of sin that originated from Satin who sinned trying to take over and wanting to be God. Adam and Eve lost the spiritual relationship we had because they did not listen to God and were disobedient. Jesus Christ won it back, taking the consequence for sin with him when he died. If we choose him, we will have everlasting life with him. That disobedient spirit still lives today.
We now have to choose Jesus Christ and everything he stands for, including obeying him. In other words, our words are the first thing to choose Jesus Christ. We must repent and change our lives, showing that our words and actions match. The Holy Spirit comes upon us. Because of our sinful life, we let spirits afflict us as well as spirits of the world indwelling in us (not the Holy Spirit). They did not ask you if they could reside in you. They just took up residence in you. You probably did not know they were there. They affected every decision you made. Because they were there, they afflicted you with disease and pain. This is why you had disease and pain afflicted upon you. When the Holy Spirit wanted to indwell in you, the other spirits had to leave, it was your choice who you wanted to reside in you, the Holy Spirit, or spirits of the world. Remember, the spirits of the world did not ask to reside in you; they just took up residence. Sometimes these spirits were handed down through generations, called generational curses (consequences for disobedience), and the diseases that went along with them. If you look back at your ancestors, you might see they all had the same disease or maybe died from heart disease or cancer “In Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 “talks about the blessings, verse 15-26 “talks about the curses.” The curses are for the disobedient.
The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and will not indwell with you unless you want it. You might not believe that, but “YOU” are the only one who can remove spirits of the world by telling them to leave. This is exactly what happened to me, and to many others. I helped them remove these defiant spirits. Those spirits still can irritate or speak to you after you have the Holy Spirit indwelling in you. They are speaking from the outside, thinking they can manipulate you like before. These spirits will try to see if you truly can be fooled. Luke 11:24-26 says, and this is Jesus speaking, “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter inand dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” This is about spirits leaving and the consequences of not receiving the Holy Spirit in the place where the spirit of the world was. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit, our world should be better with the word and knowledge of Jesus Christ. If, by the knowledge, you decide to go back into the world, you will be worse than before you knew Jesus Christ.
Our pain and disease are sometimes caused by our decisions, sometimes by our ancestors, and sometimes because of our actions. Whether it is mental or physical, it still hurts. Since I have chosen Jesus Christ, followed him with all my heart, and studied the Bible for over 20 years, it has taken time to find answers, peace, and healing. I had no clue, once I made that decision to follow Jesus, what I would have to go through or where I would end up now. I can say that the physical pain has gone, and I have overcome fear. I have been blessed in many different areas. The spiritual knowledge I have gained and continue to gain makes this life better day by day. I had struggled to overcome fear. The Holy Spirit has shown me where to find the answers. God has answered my prayers many times. The clue to blessings and prayers answered is obedience and prayer. A lot of people have questioned me when I say that they should keep on praying; in their minds, the answer should have come. It’s on God’s timing, not ours; he knows our situation. God looks at your heart. You can do the same things I did, but faster. You do not have to go through what I went through. Just follow the answers that I have learned and apply them. The “Hope” is in Jesus Christ and living forever in Heaven with no pain. If you are really feeling down, read the Psalms. They were David’s prayers to God. They can be yours if you want. God Bless!
