The Question is do We ask the Right Questions—R Fritz

The right question is the one that is asked of God. When we do not ask it looks like we are afraid to ask or afraid of the answer. We have too many people doing what they think is right. It is our interpretation of our belief what we think is right. How do we know what is right if we do not ask God. Jesus did not heal people the same way. There is a reason we ask God through the Holy Spirit how he wants us to do things. We do not know his ways. Isaiah 55:8-9 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We cannot understand God or the way he does things. It was never given to us. We are just guessing what we think are what God wants us to do and failing if we do not hear the Holy Spirit.

The reason we are failing or falling short is our interpretation of righteousness. Our righteousness is like filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 says “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities (sins, wickedness), like the wind, have taken us away.” It is our bad thoughts, then our actions that take us away from God. We have to see through our spiritual eyes what we are doing or what we are thinking about doing. The Holy Spirit is our teacher if we let him do that instead of us doing things blindly without somebody watching our back is when we will not get into trouble.

The Holy Spirit is our spiritual eyes and can see all around us, a three hundred sixty degrees. The Holy Spirit knows what we need for the day, when we wake up or leave home we will not forget things. When I speak of not forgetting things I am speaking from my experience with the Holy Spirit. It is about us surrendering all to the Holy Spirit. Getting our life in sync with the Holy Spirit, everything that does not belong in us has to leave. Fear, pride, anger, etc. are some of the spirits that manipulate us in believing that is part of our personality. These are works of the flesh.

We are supposed to live in the Spirit, not live in the flesh. Galatians 5:22-25 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (enduring patience), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (self-control), against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” If we live in the Spirit the works of the flesh do not operate. It is us getting rid of any works of the flesh that we may have. The Spirit is where we belong and is where we should fight our battles. If we fight in the flesh the way the world does, we will lose every time. If we are fighting in the Spirit the Holy Spirit is a part of our life as well as teaching us, this is where the questions come in, we should be asking the Holy Spirit about the things we are going through and how we should proceed in our battle we are going through.

God has a purpose when we go through things. It is not punishment it is us getting rid of character flaws or working on our weaknesses making us more like Jesus. James 1:2-7 says “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers (various) temptations; knowing this, that the trying of our faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavereth. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” When we go through our trials that try our faith, patience will get us to where we need to go. Wisdom comes when we “ask” God with us expecting with our faith that God will give it to us. We have to ask it is not given us automatically.

The reason we should ask questions of God through the Holy Spirit is us wanting to be the best we can be. If we look at our life before Jesus, we chose to watch successful people and asked these people how they became successful. Why would we not ask God who knows everything and who invented love, something that changes every life, about our needs. All we have to do is change from our former life, which did not work for many of us, to believing in God who has proven we can trust him through a book called the Bible with history of those that had become successful because they followed God’s rules, speaking of the future and having a relationship with God with questions or with communication with God.

Why are we so poor at communicating with God? The answer is we cannot see him and are intimidated because of that. We do not understand why he just does not just answer like any human, we forget he is not a human, he is our living God. God wants to have that relationship, but we want it our way on our terms. God accepts us the way we are if we want to follow him, but at some point, we have to change with us at first not wanting to but slowly seeing the benefits of our loving God.

What I have seen is that by studying who God is through the Bible let me see who God was through my eyes and how he wants us to live our life. When we receive the Holy Spirit is when we get all the benefits associated with Jesus’s death with the teacher (Holy Spirit) living in us and waiting for us to stir up the Spirit and learning all that will help to live a righteous life as well as enjoying our life following the Holy Spirit and obeying when he needs our help. God Bless.
