If we Want to Get God’s Attention, be a Student of God and his Ways—R Fritz
God is looking for people who are sold out to him. Are you one of them? These are people who God can use for his glory, who will do whatever God asks. These are people that want to know God through the Holy Spirit. Their life rotates around Jesus with them being surrendered so every move is used by the Holy Spirit. There is only one way to get to that surrendered point in our life. That is getting rid of our old ways and getting more of the Holy Spirit. John 3:30 says “He must increase, but I must decrease. He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.” Those that wonder what it takes to get God’s attention shall know that the Holy Spirit must increase and our old ways must go. We all came to Jesus with baggage because we lived life by what we knew or were told. Life changed us to look at other options when things were not working out.
Everybody has a different story about how we found Jesus. We at some point in our lives find that life is not treating us right. That is the point where we are looking for something to change how life has treated us, something that changes the path we were going down because our old life was squeezing our dreams and literally the life out of us. Jesus and our willingness to know him was a breath of fresh air, the light that would show why Jesus was the key to what we really were looking for out of life. For me, it was like starting life over with a purpose.
A purpose that was missing from my life and when I found it, I was all in because that purpose was filling that void in my life. Jesus gives that purpose and is the love that we never knew, greater than man’s love. 1 John 4:4-7,13 says “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us his Spirit.” It is God’s love that gives us the purpose with the Holy Spirit in us that shows us and changes our hearts. When life has come against us and changed our outlook on how we see life or beat us down, it is God’s love, that unconditional love that can change our perception of what is going on around us. It is God’s love that draws us from our old life into something we believe is better than what we had. Love is what we show people when the Holy Spirit takes us to talk to somebody.
It is God’s love that moves us to do things our flesh or Satan and his schemes will not. God’s love and his Word overcome fear and doubt. God’s weapons are our spiritual weapons where we can win battles that we see as fleshly battles but the battles are won in the spirit. Fear and doubt stop more believers than anything else. If we can overcome these spirits where our emotions dictate what we do with love and hope being the tools the Holy Spirit shows us. The Holy Spirit shows us what we are fighting and gives us the tools to see our enemy as it shows up with spiritual tools to defeat them. By listening to the Holy Spirit our battles are operated with the Holy Spirit giving answers in real time as we are fighting them in the spirit. That is what is exciting to me because it is not me fighting, it is the Holy Spirit using my words and actions, it is myself giving my will to the Holy Spirit and letting Holy Spirit use me as required. This is what the Holy Spirit wants to convey to all readers.
When we try to control our outcome, we fall back into what we had before we chose Jesus. We have to look at where we came from and ask Jesus where we should go. Our history should steer us from what we left and the outcome that comes with it. It is our insight into our future that scares people, and that is why we dislike change because we say to ourselves “where we came from was not so bad.” It is Satan telling us average is okay with Satan showing us the way. It is Satan telling us our past was not so bad with God saying to us, “we can do better.” We have to change our thinking because God is looking for those willing to follow him. That is not us doing what we knew, it is surrendering our will because God has something better for us if we will listen and change. “Fear” will rush in and stop us and our relationship with God. What I want people to know is we all have been through some terrible issues but with God all things are possible.
We have to believe God meant greatness to each one of us. Our likes or dislikes are not all the same nor are our gifts and the talent we have alike. Greatness for myself is not the same for anybody else. We believe we decide how we judge greatness. Our God through the Holy Spirit is the judge and knows who we will become and wants to push us for greatness in God’s kingdom.
As a student of God, we should study and listen for the words God have for us and then act. When we are unsure what we should do it requires prayer, then if we are still unsure, we can move ahead slowly to see if the Holy Spirit will give us direction. God is love, which gives us direction and God’s way. 1 Corinthians 13 gives us a picture of what love is and what it is not and what is God’s way. Verses 4-8 say “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love “never” fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” God’s love overcomes all including sin and never fails. Be a student of God and his ways to know him. God Bless.
