Sometimes we Need to look in the Mirror to see Who Is Responsible for Us—R Fritz

We need to sit down and look at where our life is today and how we got here. If we do not do that, we will keep doing the same things we always have done. We probably do not see we are doing things we should not be doing, things that do not look wrong on the surface. That is why we need to look in the mirror to look at how we see things, our wisdom should line up with God’s word and ask the Holy Spirit if “we” are in line with him. The Holy Spirit is the mirror of our soul, heart and mind. There are things we cannot see on the outside, only the Holy Spirit can see. We can see when people speak and their words become their  actions and show us who they are and where they stand. Matthew 12:34-36 says and this is Jesus speaking “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.” Our feelings and emotions are what drive our heart which then drives our mouth. Our words will be judged on judgement day. For those who think I can say what I want and have freedom of speech will find out there are consequences for our words.

Every morning starts a new day for us, what we do with every day is up to us. I learned that prayers before I went to bed did not work for me because I was tired and would sometimes doze off so I decided to get up forty-five minutes to one hour before I went to work, in my case I got up at 2:30 AM. It worked perfect as far as spending time with the Holy Spirit because as soon as I was awake even if my eyes were not open the Holy Spirit would speak to me. It was giving my best time, when I was alert to God. We have to decide what is important in our life. I am retired now so I can give both when I wake up and before I go to sleep as my best time. Our best time that is what God wants from us. God wants the best for us but also wants our best from us. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. If we sow our time when we want with God, do we think he will sow his time with us? We need to give God our best time, he will reward us with his best time and blessings.

We are responsible for everything that happens in our life. We make decisions that affect our life and sometimes other people. That is why we need to be careful and pray about the things we do. We have had a lifetime of doing our own thing for a long time. It is time to trust our savior Jesus in all we do. Trust comes from knowing somebody and believing in them. To know Jesus, we have to read about what he said and the most important thing is to read about his actions and that his words and actions match. Jesus came as God in the flesh. That is why we can believe him because Jesus was truth. The truth we should try to find, the truth that God is waiting for us to find. The truth that sets us free, free from sin and the lies Satan has told people from the beginning at the Garden of Eden. The lies we could do what we want with no rules when there are ten rules. Rules that maybe we could not do but then Jesus came and died sending the Holy Spirit to live in us with that choice living a life pleasing to him.

That is a choice we have to make every day. Life wants to get in our way with Satan telling us we are good no matter what we do. We measure good by our measuring stick not God’s measuring stick. The thing that Jesus gave us was hope, the hope and truth we can live forever with Jesus. That is truth we can count on. Jesus says he is the truth, why are we looking else ware, when he has the answers. John 14:6,17 says Jesus said unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” The Spirit of truth (Holy Spirit) is with us no mater where we go. That is why I say if we are truly looking for truth we will find it, it is in us and will show us and tell us the truth we just need to ask and listen. We are looking to man to give us the answers we are looking for, we just need to make sure it is truth.

Looking in the mirror can be hard because it requires us to take a hard look at who we are and some of the things we are doing. When we take a hard look we can see the things we benefit God with also the things that we need to change or to work on in our life. It gets down to being all God meant for us to be or staying where we are in life refusing to do the things that make us who he wants us to be. The thing we do not understand is that we will keep running into the same issues with never overcoming those issues. It sounds crazy we would keep replaying our life over and over with no end but this is what happens. I understand trying to battle through until we overcome because that is what I did. It becomes a decision because the Holy Spirit is with us that is why we can overcome because we cannot do it ourself. John 8:31-32 says Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The truth (Holy Spirit) lives in us, why are we not using the resource given us by God. We know the truth now let the Holy Spirit set us free. God Bless.
