Who is your God and Who do we Worship—R Fritz
I hear people talk about their favorite musician or favorite sports hero or their 401K or their job. It is ok to talk about these things. Why do these people talk about these things so much, I get it they are important to them and a lot of people. They are not relatives or close family. They have not done anything personally for them, except maybe signed an autograph. There are people who they think so much of that people “worship” or put them on a pedestal above everything. I just heard somebody on NFL network say some of these players were gods. We have a jealous God. He wants all your worship and the special attention. Satan is trying to tell Jesus what to do, but Jesus tells him in these verses. Luke 4:7-8 says “If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” If we are thinking about Jesus and have the Holy Spirit, we will not put men or money before God or serve other gods. (things or people)
People forget who has saved them, has helped them, or has redeemed them from drugs or alcohol. We are looking at things in this world having put Jesus Christ in that box and keeping him there till they really need him. We want Jesus to hang around until we need him. Jesus will not let anybody put any enclosures to keep him, he will just leave. Matthew 6:19-21 says, and this is Jesus speaking. “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” All our treasures are spiritual, not from this world, if they are, then that is where our heart is and our thoughts stay focused on men and things that are more important to us.
We spend too much time on worldly things. Sometimes we need to look at people who have very little in worldly possessions and have put their thoughts and prayers into Jesus Christ. Their faith is phenomenal and far above most other people who have “lots of stuff.” When your livelihood depends on other people or them making a living any way they know how, that is faith and a trust in Jesus Christ. I personally know people like this. They need to depend on Jesus Christ or the government.
Manna was what God gave to Israel when they were 40 years in the wilderness. Exodus 16:4,31 says “Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day that I may prove them, whether they may walk in my law, or no. And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.” It was the food God gave to Israel till they left the wilderness of Sin.
Jesus Christ is the bread of life and if we eat of this flesh, we will live forever. John 6:48-51,53 says, and this is Jesus speaking “I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.” Without Jesus Christ we are spiritually dead and will die without eternal life. Choosing Jesus Christ is the decision that completely changes our life. Before Jesus died at the last supper the bread and the blood were shown to his disciples as Jesus after death and we drink and eat for remembrance of Jesus. How much we let the Holy Spirit with our spirit operate with us, changes the people we are around and those we talk to.
We are the temple for the Holy Ghost. Knowing that we should not abuse our bodies and keep them as healthy as possible. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which you have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Remember those that gave their life to Jesus Christand have the Holy Spirit are God’s. Their life does not belong to them, it belongs to God. The Holy Spirit is God and we do not have to go anywhere to worship God because he is in us. Just turn on some Christian music and worship him right from home or anywhere. Worship starts with you, not your pastor, your spouse or anybody else. We just need to open our mouth and sing or praise God.
Most people do not understand that with the Holy Spirit (God) your own body is God’s (the temple of the Holy Ghost). Knowing this, do you think he wants you to become sick or in bad health with the Holy Spirit in you. The Holy Spirit is the answer to your healing and your health and keeping you with good health. I am going to let you think and pray about this. At another time I will go into this subject.
Today is Father’s Day, we need to give thanks to our fathers. If our father was not a very good father to us, we need to “forgive” them, they might have done all they know. There is one father you might have forgotten. That is your Holy Father, Eternal Father, for some the only Father they will know, God, your Lord, and Savior. Let’s all remember what our Father in heaven, as well as our earthy father, has done for us. Let’s pray for all! God Bless.
