We need to find out the nature of Jesus Christ and God so we can be like them. To find their nature, we need to study the Bible, and the “Word.” The word was God in the flesh or Jesus Christ. John 1:1, 14 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” The thing most people do not understand is Jesus Christ is the Word. Therefore, using the word has so much power and why it comes alive. Therefore, being in the Spirit and using verses change situations because it is not you who is doing it, it is the Holy Spirit in you.
Dying daily is remembering who you are in Christ and giving up our old self forever and remembering who you have become every day of our life. We know where we come from, and we should trust God and the Holy Spirit to take us to what God has planned for us. It is that trust that gives us the ability to do exactly as the Holy Spirit commands us to do. I call it trusting God with your life. Until that point you still have some doubt. Trusting God with all your heart will get you to overcome yourself. Giving your will over to God and letting the Holy Spirit operate in you and control your words and actions is God’s plan.
Your past, the things you went through, your personality, your God given gifts, all of you with the Holy Spirit make up you and the giving up your will make you somebody that can be used for God’s kingdom and the enemy of Satan. John 10:10 says and this is Jesus speaking “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it abundantly.” Satan is the thief that wants to make your life miserable as his is and make everything dysfunctional and to kill the family model. Jesus came to get rid of sin forever and to give life on earth abundantly and then eternal life. We need the Holy Spirit to overcome sin.
Jesus came to serve people, to show us how we were supposed to serve him. He came to set people free He wanted to show us a better way. We just must follow him. The disciples had the opportunity to see Jesus who he was and make an easy decision on what they saw. We must trust the Bible (the Word) and make that decision for Jesus with belief. God with our acknowledgement and prayer shows us or speaks to us or through people to show us he is alive. Jesus wants everybody to know who he is and why he came here. God’s word is written on our heart before birth. We just need to be born-again for the Spirit to come alive inside us. We need to choose Jesus and hang on to him. Satan wants to come between Jesus and us with lies. Satan is being so subtle as we think the information, we get in thoughts we believe are our thoughts where in reality Satan has given us his thoughts.
Those having the Holy Spirit can bring those thoughts into captivity and find out the truth. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” These words put every spirit and thought that is not from God into captivity of Jesus Christ. I personally have used these words to stop fear immediately. Again, words are powerful, and our use of the Bible and verses will change our lives.
Satan wants to bind our thought process and put us in a rut where we see no way to get out of a situation. It is like the walls moving in on us and we cannot see the whole picture. Satan uses these tactics to keep you stuck in a situation. Remember Satan has rule over this world. The mind is the battlefield where he tries to control your life. Satan cannot read your mind like God can. He puts thoughts into our mind to see how we react. Your reaction tells him if what he is doing is working and he will keep doing the same tactics until you see through his plan and change. That change really fools Satan. Satan expects his plan to work forever because most people will not change. Satan is the father of lies. John 8:44 says and this Jesus speaking. “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Satan has no truth in him. His tools are confusion and lies.
The Holy Spirit expands the walls put on by Satan and your vision to see beyond your limitation Satan has put on you. I know these things because I have been through these things with the Holy Spirit having shown me what happens when I see the whole picture. This is when you tell Satan, I know the truth liar. When we look through our natural eyes, things look one way and Satan can manipulate the picture you see to look the way he wants them. You might think that cannot happen. I am telling you that is exactly the way it works from my experience. When it is God’s time for you to see the truth, you have a choice. The Holy Spirit will show you the truth. The lies melt away. Without the Holy Spirit, the lies will always be the truth in delusion.
I climbed Grays Peak in Colorado about 15 years ago. On my way up to the top of the mountain, Satan said to me at about 13000 ft that you are not going up any farther and you are not going down. I looked around and down with my natural eyes, everything looked distorted, and Satan tried to use the spirit of fear to show me the lies he wanted. I said to Satan, shut up I am going to the top. I saw firsthand how he distorts our vision.
For us to die daily, the Holy Spirit needs to be involved. Our will needs to be given up so the Holy Spirit can show God’s perfect will. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” This explains that we need to renew our mind. The question is how we renew our mind. The answer is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
I have given you the nature of Satan and why we need to die daily and to ourselves. It is your choice from this point on to get under the Holy Spirit’s control. The other choice is to be under Satan’s control. Satan will mask his control through lies, distortion, and confusion. Our past Satan has or had under control depending on where God has unpacked the truth. We are a new creature in Christ when the Holy Spirit is our master and we become Sons of God. The truth is what God says it is, not necessarily what we see with our natural eyes. That is why he gave us spiritual eyes. I pray that all see the truth through your spiritual eyes and are set free.
