How does God Use our Weakness to Show His Strength—R Fritz
If we choose God, our weaknesses will be revealed with God able to show his strength and change us. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says to Jesus saying “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.” When we are in our weakness, that’s when God’s power excels and makes us strong through grace and love.
Change is a dirty word to a lot of people. It brings fear out quickly in people. It is being uncomfortable for the chance to win. I can say these things because of myself going through change many times. Overcoming fear was my first big challenge. If people knew the change that happened in my life over the last 20 years, they could not believe the struggles that went with the change. Those changes are still happening. The biggest change is when the Holy Spirit shows me something that needs to change my response is always let’s do it right now not tomorrow, or next week, let’s do it right now. That is what I learned in 20 years. That is my relationship with the Holy Spirit getting very special because of hearing the Holy Spirit and going through what the Holy Spirit has planned for me to overcome. That is that trust relationship that gets better every day.
This is my adventure and the adventure that gets me out of bed every day. Life does not get boring for me, unlike other people that complain about their life. This is what people do not understand is that we came from a sinful life. God accepted us the way we were. Changes are needed because of what we used to do and the change to a righteous life. There are issues you might not even know about yet. God or the Holy Spirit brings up changes to make your life easier or righteous and holy like Jesus. This is an example that everybody should strive to attain. If we are not changing, we are falling back to our old selves.
There is no sitting on the fence or straddling the fence. You are on one side or the other. You are righteous or you are not. God’s kingdom has no gray area, it is black or white. I found out years ago that trying not to choose puts you on one side or the other. Your actions or inactions put you on one side or the other. The same goes with following Jesus Christ and your actions, God knows where your allegiance lies. God might even test you to show “you” where you are.
You control if you will change after God or the Holy Spirit nudges you spiritually. The “truth” is if you do not change when nudged or asked are you disobeying God? The answer is between you and your God. You know the answer. Through that change and your struggles should bring you to a place where your belief and trust in God changes. That change, your belief, and trust, should show you if you are growing with Jesus Christ. You should begin to see what God has for you and how you are to proceed. It is always about the relationship it is about you building on that relationship each and every day.
The love of God is what makes us overcome anything going on in our life. The more we love God and his principles the easier it is to go against our old nature and the ways of this world. Something has to be bigger in our lives to push us to get through the things we do not want to do. The answer is God’s love. Unconditional love will push us to overcome our fear of the unknown. 1 John 4:16-18 says “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” If God dwells in us that is the perfect love that overcomes fear. It is the understanding and believing the truth about God’s love that overcomes. Fear has torment and that is the evidence the spirit exists.
We were made in God’s image but our free will takes us away from God. It is a choice every morning to follow Jesus. Our senses particularly our eyesight and hearing want to take us away from God, something pleasing to us, and we go in a direction away from God and I am not necessarily talking about sin. It requires the Holy Spirit to keep us headed in the right direction. We can use the same senses for God’s work and when we use our spiritual senses which are more acute for God and what he wants us to do, we feel fulfilled. That is what some people are missing in their life.
In our weakness, it is the power of Christ that changes our situation. That is the choice we make following Jesus. That is following Jesus every day with all our hearts. Our goal every day should be to do something for God’s kingdom. We have to go through life anyway, why not do something for somebody because somebody did something for us. It is called showing God’s love and showing our weaknesses in life and showing the strength of God through us with the Holy Spirit being in control. It is time to bless somebody else. God Bless.
