What is Your Calling and What it Means to You—R Fritz

What we are called to do by God should be of importance to us. Knowing that should give us peace if we have the Holy Spirit. Obeying the Holy Spirit gives us a spiritual understanding. This means we hear the Holy Spirit and is part of our mind and our thoughts. Part of our problem is we are afraid about what we think somebody else thinks. That is Satan speaking to you and you believing you should fear somebody. 2 Timothy 1:7-10 says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:”  We are not supposed to be ashamed of the Lord’s testimony. God called us with a holy calling and that was given to us before we were born or even thought of. The gospel gives us eternal life. Eternal death has gone away, and this has given us immortality through Jesus Christ, and we are able to tell the story of the gospel. So many people are looking to live forever (immortality). If we choose Jesus Christ and are Born- Again we have immortality!

The heart is where the Holy Spirit takes residence. It cannot take residence with somebody who has a stony (rigid, cold, set, unchangeable) heart. Before we choose Jesus Christ and are Born-Again, we have a stony heart. Ezekiel 36:26-27 says “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgements, and do them.” The new heart and spirit are the spirit of change that comes with us choosing Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit causes us to obey Gods rules and statutes. Without the Holy Spirit we would be doing what we have always done and keep on living a life of sin. That is our conscience and gives us conviction when we are doing something we should not be doing.

When the Holy Spirit lives in us, it does not overrule us. We have to allow it to operate in us and become part of us. The more we trust it and obey the more the Holy Spirit and we become one. In other words, each of us that have the Holy Spirit, have a different understanding and different relationship with the Holy Spirit. That also means a different understanding of the Bible, not completely different doctrine. 1 John 2:20 says “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things” It is that anointing that comes upon us that changes “our” perception of any situation we are in. We are looking through our eyes and when we see through the Holy Spirit, do we understand what is going on.

Because of “your” understanding you are given deeper spiritual things that you understand, with the Holy Spirit’s help. If you want that deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit you need to show God, you are serious about learning and getting more understanding. That is praying for more of the Holy Spirits understanding and trying to find the answers you are looking for in the Bible or going to a Bible study. Sometimes, people are lazy and do not to do their part and believe other people without checking out what somebody says.

1Peter 1:6-7 says “Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, through it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” God talks about gold and how it gets processed to get to pure gold as an example. I have been to many gold mines and have seen and have gotten from the gold mine nuggets of gold. They have other minerals with them. Heat and fire are used to remove certain minerals at certain temperatures. Gold melts above all other minerals, over 2000 degrees. The dross is the worthless impurities that burn off before we get pure gold. This is the spiritual process God talks about that he puts us through to purge our impure or unrighteousness (dross). These are the trials we go through. This is where some people run from God. They cannot stand the fire turned up on them by God to make them the person God wants them to be.

The Holy Spirit does not change you completely, it uses who we are and what we went through and helps us get through the issues we still have and adds God’s wisdom and understanding to make us a complete human being with the Holy Spirit guiding us to be the person God made us to be. We are an example of what God can do and our experiences will be able to show somebody else what they are capable of and they can overcome anything.

We see things through our eyes and become afraid, when we look through the Holy Spirit’s eyes, everything looks different and were not afraid of anything (fearless). Those that have the Holy Spirit now have a new tool in their tool belt to overcome Satan. This was revealed to me this morning. I take parts of 2 or 3 days to write this blog. The reason is the Holy Spirit can change what I will write and could change the direction I am going. There are times that the Holy Spirit tells me things to do and sometimes my first thought is that I am not going to do that. That thought was looking through my eyes. After praying, I see through the Holy Spirit’s eyes and my questions were answered. This is why it is so important to help the Holy Spirit get through any issues that the Holy Spirit wants you to get through.

Through the many issues we got through, we become an asset for the Holy Spirit to use when we are asked to speak to somebody. We are all called when we chose Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 7:20-24 says “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.”  This speaks about us being in the same calling as Jesus Christ. He was the servant for God. We are called as a servant for Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ paid the price of death for us. We are not servants of men, only our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We all have a lot to be thankful for. We just have to look at all the things Jesus Christ has done for us and giving us the Holy Spirit to overcome our life and to give us “his” wisdom and understanding for us to give to others as a blessing.

God Bless.
