With God’s Love, We Can Overcome Anything—R Fritz

The Bible talks about God’s love conquers all and is all-consuming and empowering. Agape love is unconditional love, given no matter what somebody says or does. It is given with no preconditions it is excepting us the way we are. This is how God loved us first. We need to study God’s nature to find out what his love does and changes situations. This is the Holy Spirit that lives in us. When we surrender our will, God’s nature takes over and we can love as Jesus showed us and his light will shine. 1 John 4:7-8 says “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” Everybody that loves, knows God. If you do not love, you do not know God.

God sent his son to take the sentence of death for our sins. This is his love for us when we deserved that death sentence. This is the “grace” that was given by God. Grace that was not deserved by us but applied by God. That is a love far beyond which could only be given by God. John 1:16-17 says “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” God’s love shows through his nature and gives us a chance to love him and become a son of God and not a servant to sin. That is the choice given to all.

Man’s love is with feelings and emotions. It is us loving who treats us right or we have a personal relationship with. I personally have not understood God’s love for a long time until I started to study and ask God what his love was because I was expecting his love to be the same. I found out it was a relationship where God loved me unconditionally and if I loved him, I would trust him and obey him. 1 John 5:2-5 says “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous (burdensome or oppressive). For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, But he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? To love God, we need to keep his commandments.

We have to know what God’s love is. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says “Love is patient, is kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, is not puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not seek its own, is not provoked, reckons not the evil, does not rejoice over the unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, it covers all, believes all, expects all, endures all. Love never fails. And whether there be prophecies, they shall be inactive; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be inactive.” We all know what “Love” is so if what we are doing, or feeling does not line up we need to change what we are doing or to get into alignment with love.

The Holy Spirit is what changes your attitude even when you are in bad or stressful situations. The Holy Spirit is what keeps you cool and collected with peace. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (enduring patience), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (self-restraint): against such there is no law.”  These are what you will see in people and in your spirit. They are the fruit, the results of your actions. If you see other things that are appearing in other people that are not of the Holy Spirit, your spirit will be in check because the Holy Spirit and your spirit agree something is not right

When your spirit is not right, or you have not surrendered your will, or you are in the flesh you get the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19-20 says “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness (lustfulness), Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance (dissension), emulations {contentious rivalry), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”  These attitudes or actions will not get you to heaven. They are not the nature of God. They are opposites of what God stands for. You will not have peace and joy and nothing that is part of the works of the flesh have anything to do with love. These works you should run from.

Those that overcome know the Bible and know love, righteousness, and have peace and joy. They also know their enemy Satan and his attributes and can discern between what they hear and see and can discern who is speaking through their thoughts. The Holy Spirit gives you the bible verses needed to defeat Satan’s half-truths he tries to feed you. Satan knows the Bible. He will see if you do. His trick is to leave out part of the verse. That is where I catch Satan in a lie. Remember the Holy Spirit came to teach you all things and to bring all things to your remembrance in John 14:26-27.

Those that know love, peace, and joy, and the rest of the fruits of the Spirit can show love and teach and especially show them who Jesus is. One thing I learned when talking to people is they want to talk about their issues. That is where I show them, love, by listening and when the Holy Spirit gives me the answers to their issues. Our friends, family, and who God sends for us to talk to need to be shown love and when they see God’s love, peace, and joy through you, they will see you are different than the rest of the world and ask questions. Be the “Light” that shines for Jesus. God Bless.
