What Will it Take for Us to Step Up to do God’s Will—R Fritz
Many times, it takes something to happen to us to change or fight for something or somebody. Things need to change the status quo we are used to. That does not mean we like what we are doing; it means we do not know a better way. The opportunity is waiting for us; we need to see it. Here comes Jesus and the truth, which at the time we cannot see how it will change our circumstances. People are seeking something to change their current situation in life. It is called getting out of our “comfort zone,” where we stay because we can try to control what happens where we are; it is called just getting by. That does not necessarily mean we have money problems or are broke; it means our spirit is broken. We have been beaten down to a point where we can only see day to day and do not see a different future.
I can speak the words because that is where I was at one time, about twenty-five years ago. I hated where I was because my spirit was broken until I had the thought of going to church. It was going to different churches looking for answers and eventually God sent the right people to that church to move me along until I met somebody that knew more and could teach me spiritual things until at a point in time when they could not teach me any more new things then the Holy Spirit said he would teach me. That is where I am today with God, bringing in other people where they come and go. John 14:26-27 says, and this is Jesus speaking, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid:” The Holy Spirit will bring all things to our remembrance through our thoughts and give us his peace where we are given peace in the eye of the storm sometimes under extreme circumstances.
What is our role in God’s kingdom? That is the question? Have we ever really given that any thought? Words or speech do no good if we do not leave our house or property without engaging with people. It takes people to see we care; that is what people are looking for. The saying that nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care. It is the respect we show people that goes with our actions. God is looking for people to serve him with all their heart. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat (dull), and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.” God is looking for those who want to be part of God’s army and answer his call, saying, “Here I am, send me.” Where are those people because God is looking for them, the Holy Spirit is trying to bring those people who are not afraid to say send me. God is not looking for excuses why we cannot do it; God just wants us to say yes to have faith in him instead of fear. My decision was made to serve God over twenty years ago.
We chose to follow Jesus with our words, and I hope that we meant it. It might take time to show our actions, as not all situations can be handled. It is we going out with the attitude and thought we can do it, and if we cannot it is a learning experience for us. What we do not understand is we need to be where the Holy Spirit wants us to be and say what we are to say, the rest is done by God. There were times I thought I failed and reminded I did not by the Holy Spirit as well as being told by people involved the miracle happened. It is always our decision every day to follow and obey God, so a bad day one day can turn into a good day the next day. Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 says, “Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.” It is how we look at each day that counts, even though there are days we never want to see happen again, we are being tested by God. We need to understand that we are not in control of our lives.
We gave control of our lives over to Jesus, and something comes up that questions what we are doing, so we want to get control back. That shows we currently do not trust Jesus. We need to listen to the Holy Spirit to remind us that today might be a bad day, we need to get our thoughts together and pray our way through with an expectation that tomorrow will be different, as we need to take every day as it comes. Satan is looking to put confusion in our lives. Matthew 6:34 says, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
We need to be able to take the good with the bad with peace as we walk through our lives. If we start to walk with the Holy Spirit, we will learn and see what is going on in our life with the Holy Spirit to give us spiritually what we need as we walk through our life with peace, peace that the Holy Spirit only can give. God Bless.
