The Greatest Love Story Ever—R Fritz

Our God loves us so much that he gave up his Son to pay the price for our sins. We deserved the beating and death sentence, but his Son Jesus took what should have been our sentence. That is the greatest love story. John 3:16-17 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” God wanted to save us from our sin, not kill us and Jesus Christ came to try and save us. We have a choice to be saved from our sins. We need to turn to Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness and walk down a different path, a narrow path that leads to life, Eternal Life. God left that choice to us.

God invented love. God is the model sent in Jesus Christ to show us what love is. Love is more than man thinks it is. God is love, that’s his nature. God’s love is unconditional, it does not depend on your attitude or whether we love him, God does not count rights or wrongs. God’s love does not see the color of your skin or gender. Love does not change for anything or for any reason. 1 John 4:16 says “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” Our love comes from God and that love shows through the Holy Spirit which teaches us all things. Many people were not taught God’s love. It was taught through man’s eyes and handed down through generation to generation. Satan came and distorted God’s love over a few thousand years.

If we love God back, we will obey him. If God is love and we believe in him, we should obey him without too much thought. Belief is an action word, it is not a just a thought, it requires an action. Let’s say we are praying and asking God to find us a different vehicle. We do not just sit and wait on God. We start investigating a vehicle that will fit our needs. We then start looking online and maybe go to some dealers. Let’s say we can’t find anything, and prices are going up. We do not give up. We keep looking online expecting God to find us a vehicle. All of a sudden you find a vehicle and go and look at it. It turns out it is more than you expected, and the price is a great deal. This is my story. I believed God had a plan and that plan was to find me a different vehicle. I did not give up, I just had to keep doing my part. This goes for any thing we pray or ask for.

We have to turn from our wicked or unrighteous ways. We think we are good we do not know God’s ways. Isaiah 64:6 says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”  We are judging our righteousness as the world (what we know) does and it is like filthy rags according to God’s ways and have taken us away from God.

God is trying to help us to understand his nature and why he does certain things and why we need to change our thinking. We have to be pliable and willing to stretch our thinking and how we perceive things of the past. He is giving more information if we keep on studying the Bible and obeying where he wants us to go.

Exodus 12 talks about God taking the people of Israel out of Egypt. Every household or household and neighbor if they were a small household to take a lamb. A lamb without blemish, a male of the first year. Everybody kept it till the fourteenth day of the same month and all kill it that night. Take the blood of the lamb with no broken bones on two sides of the door post and the upper door post. Roast it and eat and whatever is left the next morning burn up. This is the Lord’s Passover. God says he will kill all firstborn man and beast of Egypt that night. The houses that had the blood on their door posts he passed over and nothing happened to them. God then said there shall be a feast to God forever to remember God taking his people out of Egypt. It was the lamb’s blood that saved God’s people. This was the first Passover Lamb.

Luke chapter 23 and 24, Matthew chapter 27 and 28 tell the story of Jesus’s death, crucifixion, and resurrection. You have to understand at that time, the day started at sunset and went to sunset the next day. Jesus died on Passover as the Passover lamb with no broken bones. This is prophecy in a number of places that not one bone would be broken. Jesus was the Passover lamb without sin or blemish. Jesus’s blood and death were the sacrifice for saving us from our sins. That was the price that needed to be paid. Jesus was the second Passover lamb and final sacrifice that would save us and the route to get to heaven through having a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Before Jesus died at the last supper Jesus took bread, broke it, and gave it to his disciples to eat signifying his body and telling them this my body, which is broken for you, eat in remembrance of me. The cup filled with wine was his blood, drink in remembrance of me which is the Jesus’s death and his remembrance. This we are suppose to do till he comes back. Corinthians 11- 23-26 says and Jesus, speaking “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, “This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”

I did not understand God’s ways over 20 years ago. I knew I needed to change, I did not know what that change was going to be or how it would change my life. God gave me the chance and I trusted him even though I did not know him at that time. Through all my changes and reading and understanding the Bible through the Holy Spirit, I got to know God. That personal relationship with God keeps giving me the knowledge to keep living the life God wants me to live.

I have learned that obeying what the Holy Spirit tells me to do saves time and blessings come for my obedience. I have disagreed a few times with God, looked at who I was talking to and stopped talking. It was ready for me to change. We have many things to be thankful for. Jesus giving us a path for eternal life is the most important. Every day he should give you hope and trust to get through every day. The Holy Spirit gives us everything we need to overcome sin and Satan our adversary. God Bless.
