Passover
Why is Passover so Important? — R Fritz
Passover was important because of the blood. In the Old Testament it was animal blood that covered sin temporarily each year. It had to be sheep, goat, or bullock without blemish, one animal being a scapegoat that the sin was applied hands on and let go in the wilderness. The second goat was killed for a sacrifice and sin offering and the blood applied to the mercy seat and their sin was forgiven with the killed goat for their sins where Aaron would go into the tabernacle for atonement for himself, his household and the congregation for their sins where the scapegoat was for removing their guilt. Hebrews 9:19-22 says “For when Moses had spoken every precept (commandment) to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined (commanded) unto you. Moreover, he sprinkled blood with both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged (cleansed) with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (forgiveness).” This was done until Jesus came to take care of sin and guilt forever by his death.
Passover was when the LORD took his people out of Egypt. It was where a lamb without blemish was killed and the blood was applied to the doorpost. The lamb was eaten and that night the LORD would pass through Egypt and kill all the firstborns except those who had the blood on the doorposts and pass over those houses. That day was a memorial and a feast forever for seven days where unleavened bread is eaten. Jesus was the Passover lamb, the last sacrifice for our sins. Adam and Eve’s sin was disobeying God. Genesis 2:16-17 says, “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” God was serious when he said these words. When Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden there was no coming back to God. They had to work to make a living as God would not be around sin. God wanted us to get back with him as sin needed to be paid for and that is where animal blood was a temporary covering for sin. Jesus knew his days were coming to an end. The day of unleavened bread (Passover). The people needed a sacrifice. This is where Jesus asked Peter and John to prepare for the Passover and found a place where the disciples could meet and eat the Passover called the Last Supper. This is where Jesus ate the Passover before he suffered. 1Corinthians 11:23-26 says and this is Jesus speaking “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, “Take, eat this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, “This cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye do shew (proclaim) the Lord’s death till he comes.” Jesus was the Passover lamb, the sacrifice and his blood that was needed to forever take care of sin and shows the power of the blood in forgiveness for our sins. We are to follow his lead and eat the bread and drink the wine or grape juice as asked in remembrance of Jesus till he comes back. This is how we are to celebrate Jesus as the Passover lamb and the New Testament.
The New Testament requires the death of the testator Jesus. Hebrews 9:16-17 says “For where a testament is, there must be also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise, it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Our penalty from Adam and Eve was eternal death and God sent Jesus as a man to take our place if we choose him, if we do not choose Jesus that sentence of eternal death will be applied on our death. The Passover where Jesus took our place and penalty was our blessing. On Jesus’s death it was also where we could speak to God himself through the Holy Spirit who lives in us, where our Spirits can speak directly as God is a Spirit. God took a situation of disobedience and sin through different situations as we could not overcome sin. God sent Jesus as the only sinless man who could pay our debt because a man needed to pay the price. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God loves us so much he made a permanent way for us to be with him forever after Jesus’s death. A personal relationship we all can have. We just need to make that decision of a relationship with God, Spirit to spirit and move forward.
When I figured out God was my only option to change my situation and my life, I was all in and that is me, that is how I operate. Being all in on anything after checking things out is my attitude especially when I see the impossible with Jesus. This is where Satan comes in and tries to stop us after that choice of Jesus. Satan either puts things in our way to stop our path forward to God or in my case and those like me going full speed forward to find God, he will push you to go faster towards Jesus to burn us out. That attitude of not giving up and pushing forward even when things are falling apart around us pushes us to be able to overcome. As in my start and walk with Jesus included personal issues that needed to be dealt with at the same time where personally it was two steps forward one step back or two steps back and one step forward until I found out the battle was not in the flesh, it is in the spirit.
Winning our battles comes from pushing hard to find the truth where nothing else matters for a time. When we find out all our answers are either in the Bible or given to us by the Holy Spirit who gives the answers many ways. God shows his love for us all the time and we cannot see it, showing our love to God comes when we obey him. The Passover was showing God’s love for us even when we do not show him or thank him. Every day is a new start, a time when yesterday was a bad day, today we get a new start and tomorrow we will see tomorrow. Ask God through the Holy Spirit to become a part of our life every day and see things change. Happy Passover and God Bless.

Our Purpose
In this world in which we are living, it is obvious that the Word of God needs to reach those that are lost and are searching for answers to events surrounding the news media that are bombarding us with what is in most cases, false news. There is no doubt in our minds that all the answers are found in the scriptures of the Holy Bible and it is our intent to search the scriptures thoroughly and find the answers to everyday questions that are people are pondering. There is no way that anybody can exhaust the whole Bible and know all the answers, but through divine inspiration from the Holy Spirit, that we will be lead according to His will. One thing that we hear out in the world is, “The Bible is too hard to understand.” The mistake that people most commonly make is, they think they can read and understand the Bible without guidance from the Holy Spirit and that is impossible. We will take scriptures out of the Bible and try our best to bring them to life. The Word of God is a living testimony of Jesus Christ and in order to know the living God (Jesus Christ) you have to understand the written Word.
It is or hope that we will lead people to the saving knowledge and wisdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is our intent to encourage people to get into the Word of God and hear what our Lord has to say to you. We understand that no human being alive can save another human being from the destruction of sin. Only by grace can one be forgiven through faith and that in and of itself is a free gift generously given to us by our heavenly Father through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ! It is our intent to bring to life the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ! There are two particular verses in the Bible that we keep in the front our memory bank. Acts 17:11; “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” We expect you to be a Berean and search the scriptures daily to make sure that we are guiding you in all truth according to God’s Word. Secondly, Romans 8:28; “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Once you become born-again and know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you can be assured that everything that happens in your life will be Father filtered.
