God Made Mothers to Love & Nurture with Wisdom and Kindness—R Fritz
God took Adam’s rib to make woman because man had no helper. Man needed a helper because all the animals Adam had named had a mate. Genesis 20-23 says “And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Woman was created from man but that does mean they were created exactly the same. They were both created in God’s image. God had a purpose and a need to bring in woman, it was to compliment man and to be a helper and a server. Woman’s roles have changed and added to, to become who God wanted each one of us to be.
Proverbs 31 speaks of the virtuous woman or wife of valor. This is what women should strive for. Proverbs 31:10 says “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Virtuous women are hard to find, they are very valuable, somebody above all women. Proverbs 31:25-28 speaks of some of her qualities which are “Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opened her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looked well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” The Proverbs 31 woman is the woman who knows the Holy Spirit, she has a relationship where she hears what needs to be done, she also knows what God’s love is.
Woman’s role as a nurturer was what God had in his plan when sin happened in the Garden of Eden. Satan knew Eve the first mother was the key to the family and getting her to sin would change what God’s first plan with us being with God forever. Satan thinks he is smarter than God in everything he does but God has outsmarted him every time. It is Satan’s pride or stupidity that shows because God’s wisdom is greater than man or a fallen angel. God will show those that think they are smarter and want to use that against us to show we are nothing compared to him. 1 Corinthians 1:25-27 says “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound (put to shame) the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” So many times it is fear or us not trusting God that we choose to go our own way trusting ourselves over God or forgetting where our answer is. Fear is the lie we believe and the things we hear that lead us down the wrong path when our focus should be on Jesus in our time of need.
Eve was the first mother, but God put Adam to be the leader of the family. Adam was the person responsible for what happened in the Garden of Eden. Adam was the leader God appointed to give the family structure and to be the spiritual leader and protector of the family. Adam failed because of sin, God had a plan to get us back on track first with animals taking care of our sin, then he sent Jesus to take care of sin forever who also showed our way to eternity through the Holy Spirit. We choose our path to eternal peace or eternal damnation. That path starts with Jesus and ends with Jesus. What we do in between the start and end, death, is completely up to us. We can let God through the Holy Spirit change our life, be our spiritual leader because the path lives inside us if we surrender to the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we are asked to be patient, for me just hearing “be patient” gives me the trust that I know the Holy Spirit has me covered and my answer is on the way as God is working on the answer and it is coming soon. I press God with my prayers to give me an answer and keep pressing since it says we should pray without ceasing. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 says “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” We do not receive what we ask because we are not serious enough about what we have asked. It is our actions that sway God that start with our words.
Mothers as well as the people around us help make us who we are or will become. Our mother’s love and nurturing have brought us to the place we are now. It is the love we remember with the words spoken that has taken us through the rough times in our life. God’s gift of moms influences us in who we become, if still alive they still have that effect, and we should tell them we appreciate them. For those who have lost their moms it is the remembrance of the things that were said or done for us that come back to us. God uses pictures to show us our past. We need to ask God to give us those pictures and memories for a great Mother’s Day. God Bless.
