When we get Angry it Draws us Away from God—R Fritz
Anger is a feeling with consequences because it sometimes involves other people. It is anger for something somebody has done or circumstances we see as wrong. It is our perception that we get angry. People do many things that get us to the point where we become angry. Sometimes we do not let things bother us, but things keep happening so we sometimes give into anger. What we do with that anger is where sin sets in. Anger starts as a feeling. It is when it escalates that anger takes control of us. When anger escalates it controls and God has no part in that escalation. It is Satan that helps us escalate.
According to the book, “A More Excellent Way Be in Health” bitterness is the principality with which seven spirits are aligned. They start with unforgiveness, resentment, retaliation, anger, hatred, violence, and murder. These seven spirits are how we move to the next worse spirit and believe we are justified in our feelings. Ephesians 6:12 says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Principalities are the generals in the spirit world. They keep the spirits in line, and they answer to bitterness. This is information most people do not know. It is important to know when we get angry, three spirits have already manipulated us.
If we know the truth it will set us free. We should strive every day to find some truth. With the Holy Spirit living in us it is not hard to find truth. We just need to go through life and ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom or as we are going through our day to show us. The question always to ask is about love, we should love the sinner but not the sin. Sometimes it is hard to separate the sin from the person.
Discernment is the ability to see and decide between truth and error, right and wrong. We are to test the spirits to see if they line up with God. 1 John 4:1-2 says “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ comes in the flesh is of God: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” Without discernment, we are ourselves trying to judge truth from lies. We try to judge without God’s wisdom and that is a recipe for failure. Discernment is a requirement for all believers, or we will.
be led astray with false teaching. We need to read God’s word with the Holy Spirit giving us the ability to know or with the Holy Spirit giving us knowledge through our thoughts. Man does not teach discernment it is spiritual and taught by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:3 says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” We are given things that pertain to life and godliness so we will know and can become who God has meant for us to be.
I saw anger move people in the wrong direction this week. One was a person who did not know better, and the other knew what anger can do with people, but forgot because when we are put into different situations many times and the outcome is the same as the last time or times it angers us to go through that situation. I saw where God has put me through the same situation a couple of times, but it was because he thought I needed more work on that situation. Other times we go through things more than once because we did not listen or refused to change. It always comes down to us and our decisions because sometimes we put ourselves in situations where things we do bring us down a road where evil might be along our path. Evil or sin is what will get God to see us. He will let us go down that path or road for awhile but at some point, God will try to draw us out of that situation. We can look at our life and not like where we are at, but we also have that ability to scratch our way back to God or rekindle that relationship with the Holy Spirit. In other words, it comes down to us, it always does. We control some of the roads we have been down and whether we ask for wisdom from God so we are not tested or moved on with other issues God can help us.
The feeling of anger is one of our strongest. It can take us to murder but it will not take us to God because God is love. Only forgiveness will take us from a path where we can come back to God. The words “I’m sorry” or “forgive me” will change any situation. People that are hurt are looking for these words, for them, they are lifesaving. There is an instance where God has talked about righteous anger, anger that is spiritual and comes from God. It has nothing to do with our feelings, it has to do with righteousness where we see what God sees. Ephesians 4:26-27 says “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” Righteous anger Satan cannot touch. It is the fleshly type where Satan’s spirits will try and control us.
It is that control that Satan wants in our life. Sin is what gives Satan control over us. We need to know that with the Holy Spirit giving wisdom as we are going through things, we have a way out. God does not forsake us, we forsake him. Believe and trust God, He is always the way out of our situations. God Bless.
