When we go Through Spiritual Battles, we Need to Ask for Help to Get our Life back in Order—R Fritz
God just showed me too many people after a spiritual battle are down and need a hand up to get back to what is normal for them. The battle takes a toll on people physically or mentally. We should keep an eye on the people around us to make sure they do not need any help. I find some battles take faith away as well as let fear enter their life. This is the problem we need to address because when we lose our faith and let fear operate in our life that changes how we think. It then starts to change our everyday routine. We start to believe what Satan whispers in our ear, things as we start to believe after we hear the same things every day, we start to believe Satan. Things like God has forgotten us or God does not love us. When we are down Satan wants to take us down through our thoughts. Satan is slick at taking our feelings and making things look like what we are told by Satan where we think the thoughts we hear belong to us, it could not be further from the truth. That is where the Holy Spirit comes in to inform us what is happening in real time.
The battle is ours only if want to take the battle on by ourselves. We hold the key to win or lose the battle. If we let God to know we cannot do the battle ourselves he will go before us to fight the battle. Deuteronomy 1:30 says “The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;” We do not see the LORD doing what he says with our eyes, so we do not believe it? This is where the spiritual battle comes in where we do not believe what this verse says. What the LORD says is truth and it shall happen. If we go back into the Old Testament and read about the battles you will find that when God was in the battles with his people in the Old Testament they won and when they disobeyed, they lost the battle. That is why we need to listen to the Holy Spirit to win our battle. Satan wants us to forget about the Holy Spirit and God in the heat of a battle, it happens to me sometimes. The answer is right there in front of our face in the spirit, we just need to connect through the Holy Spirit to see it. This is what I see happening to me.
I must battle through things just like everybody else, being able at some point to get the answer as to teach other people how to win their battle. As I counsel other people the answer is to ask God the question. What is the question to ask? It is what we are looking for, God is going to look at our motives. James 4:3,7,10 says “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” We ask for the wrong thing with the wrong motive, that changes everything. When we are in battle for our life or soul that is where our motive should be pure.
A pure motive would be looking to Jesus and everything we do we would be thinking about him and doing the righteous thing. That does not mean we are perfect because there was only one. Two things change us, God’s love with the Holy Spirit working with us to purify our heart, remake us in God’s image into a disciple for Jesus. We on the other hand need to submit to Jesus for us to completely buy into that discipleship. We have Satan trying to lie and confuse us with Satan using our feelings to believe his lies with fear trying to stop us at every move. Satan uses everything and everybody to stop us from being who we were meant to be.We must be smarter than Satan because he does not know our thoughts, he gets information from our actions or giving us thoughts to speak out what he wants to know. Satan does not have any pure or righteous thoughts as he knows the Bible very well.
We have sidestepped our commitment when we said we chose Jesus and gave our life to him. Our life changed for a while, and we have forgotten what we said. We have taken our life back and left God out looking at our life. We have had many chances to add God to help our situations every day. I also have many chances to see different situations because people call me to find answers to their issues. Galatians 6:8-10 says “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” We are supposed to help our fellow men. I had a call in the last couple of days about suicide asking what to do where I know the person. Many people tell me that when they could go to a suicide awareness class, they do not have time. How selfish because it is not about us, it is about somebody else. After having a conversation with this person this is what I said to do, I said to send a text message to ask, “if there was something they could do to help the situation.” I also said to pray. Why did I say that because God uses our words or texts to bring back to people’s thoughts. I say that because something I said to somebody twenty-five years ago was brought back to me by another person who had asked about me. The person who was talking about suicide texted me about their situation early this morning. I have learned we need to do “something” when we are brought into a situation. What we do next could save a life or change a situation these are all spiritual battles where God can use us. It is time to step up to help somebody else. God Bless.
