Can we Hit the Snooze Button with God—R Fritz
We can hit the snooze button when we were asked to choose Jesus. When we are asked a question, ‘it is not yes or I am not going to answer, it is either yes or no and if we do not answer it is a no. People believe they do not have to answer, in God’s case we always answer because if our words we do not speak, our actions will. Matthew 5:37 says “But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” God knows what we want but we need to speak our decision, so it is remembered with God’s understanding, we make decisions with our understanding which is why our decisions are not successful. We keep doing the same things because we trust ourselves and do not hear or listen to the Holy Spirit.
When we snooze, we lose, it could be not paying attention. We lose many things because we are not awake. God is looking for those who will looking for him or needs him immediately. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” We have many people who want God to answer our questions immediately, the question is does he? The answer we all know is no. It requires faith and belief which is action. We need to call upon God, pray and seek him with all our heart.
People are looking for the easiest way to get what they want. God does not operate that way. We need to show love, with God it is to obey him. John 15-16 says “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” God’s love resides in us as the Holy Spirit, without that love we cannot change, and we are our old self. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and will teach us all things, he is always with us. Knowing the Holy Spirit is in us we should understand when we surrender all or to keep surrendering parts of us until we are surrendered, the Holy Spirit becomes us with our personality and God’s love. The Holy Spirit told me over twenty years ago when man could not teach me his wisdom and understanding that the Holy Spirit would teach me. The Holy Spirit will do the same for each person who chooses Jesus and studies who God is, obeys the Holy Spirit and follows God’s ways and thoughts. It is not just for me; it is for everyone. God has a plan for everybody and a way to become who we are to be. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to show us what to do.
Instead of pressing into finding out who the Holy Spirit is we keep asking men their opinion on what we should do when all we must do is ask the Holy Spirit what we should do. We do not have to ask the Holy Spirit in special words, speak in the same words we speak to men with the expectation to receive what we have asked for by faith. There are times we should ask men, but we do not automatically believe what is said, we look for confirmation from other means or other people. God uses everything around us to communicate to us when we do not know them or what was said is correct, that is where discernment comes in. Hebrews 5:11,13-14 says “Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For everyone that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” We must remember that The Holy Spirit lives in us so what we do and ask for as tools we receive directly from the Holy Spirit are to succeed in what we need to do, we were not meant to fail.
We must use the spiritual tools we were given to see what is really happening because Satan can blind us, so we do not see or know what is happening. It is Satan who is the counterfeiter, who knows God so can fake the things of God. We were meant to see these counterfeits with the Holy Spirits help, we just need to communicate as things are unfolding in our life or as we see things and we know things are not right. It is the Holy Spirit who has given us a check in our Spirit. That check should be what makes us ask questions about what is happening or what is about to happen.
I have seen somebody I know going through deaths in the family but forgetting about themselves which was taking this person down mentally and spiritually. We need to remember ourselves when battling for other people. It gets to a point where we lose our joy but do not see it for what it is. We keep doing the things of God as what I call a Lone Ranger, doing things by ourselves. I know because I have been through the same situation. The difference was I have people around me to talk to and can see what is going on. Hitting the snooze button comes from us getting up without spending time praying doing the same thing and buying into we are good each morning when we are far from being good, close to losing it where thoughts of suicide show up. We need to take care of ourselves first before we get to taking too much on. It is asking for help when we have many personal issues going on and not thinking we can do it ourselves. Family and friends need to see what is going on and ask questions. Let us pay attention to people around us. God Bless.
