We Need to Assess Ourselves and Look into our Soul and our Words—R Fritz

We forget about ourselves and what makes us human, the soul. Our inner being makes us different from each other, it is fragile because words affect us and can murder our soul. It is what is left when we die. One of the ten commandments is, you shall not kill, where people think they have a right to kill somebodies’ soul and spirit. Words are the weapon where people think there are no consequences for what they say to people. We will be responsible for every word that comes out of our mouth. Matthew 12:35-37 says with Jesus’ speaking “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say to you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned.” Our words will define us with men getting away with saying things believing their speech has no consequences where God will deal with people who speak evil things.

To kill the soul comes from words that dehumanize people. We have so many people walking around where their self-worth has been told to them so long, we start to believe in these people then we lose our hope and walk around wounded, look around we can see them, I can tell you for sure from my past. Satan now gets to cement the words spoken or written into their mind every day and deep in their soul as well as bring spirits that attach to them. We as believers need to see these people and give them hope. We must speak positive things into people until they start to believe them because it takes time for them to believe the words that mentally scarred them and will take longer for people to start to believe in themselves with confidence. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” We have the power that God gave us with our speech where our fruit will show in our life where good and evil will be seen with the people around us. It is time to speak God’s truth or time to pray and stop talking, that is the problem that we cannot keep our mouth shut. We always have to say something about everything; our opinion matters to us. Our opinions do not matter to God only truth matters.

We need to find out what is packed away in our soul. Things that made us who we are up till now. The Holy Spirit wants to unpack the things that were not dealt with at a time in our life. We wonder why things come up in our life and we keep coming face to face with the same issue. One of the things I learned was I needed to ask the question to God, in my case “it was why was I angry.” If you ask the question of the Holy Spirit, you should be ready to deal with the question with the answer you would be working out with the Holy Spirit as well as another person in my case. The Holy Spirit wants us to be free from issues Satan wants to use against us. We need to admit our issue to ourselves to overcome it. I told somebody I was working with that they needed to admit their issue to God not to anybody else. It was a time when we could focus on our issue and spend time with the Holy Spirit. The baggage we carry is weighing us down, causing us to lose sleep, causing division in our families. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Wherefore seeing we also were compassed (surrounded by) about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset (ensnare) us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” We get ensnared in issues that we are unable to get out of. Look at the world and what is happening to families. We have the answer to bring the Holy Spirit into healing we just must ask the question. This baggage came before we knew Jesus. Fear stops people from asking that question because our baggage is normal to us, when we feel what it feels like when the weight is lifted off our back, we will be surprised. I say that because that is what I felt when I overcome the issues in my life. It is hard for people to give up the old life, what they have always done.

Forgiveness is the one issue we forget about that if we do not deal with, is pushed back deep and forgotten in our soul. When we do not forgive it turns into bitterness because people have offended us in some way where we cannot forget what people done where we feel what they have done in our eyes was done on purpose to hurt us. People say things without thinking about the consequences, whatever comes into their mind. Sometimes we do not know when we have not forgiven. That person we forget to forgive is ourselves and sometimes that is the hardest to forgive because we are hard on ourselves.  Matthew 6:14-15 says and this is Jesus speaking “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”  God is clear about forgiveness, so it is very important we deal with our unforgiveness.

We must be careful with our words because there will be consequences. It is always thinking about somebody else and not about us because we could crush somebody’s soul. Where is the love that God calls? Do we forget to love our neighbor, let’s let the Holy Spirit lead us. God Bless.
