Who Am I?—R Fritz
We might wonder what I am talking about, it has to do with our thinking. In my case, I believe God can do anything; it is what I can do with confidence when people are bombarding us with negative words. It is people thinking about themselves and very little about other people. It is about showing the love of God when people have mistreated us. That defines who we are and who we serve. I have seen that when somebody mistreats us, when we treat them better than they deserve after a while, not necessarily within a particular period of time, they will change because they feel love. I have shown this to many people, it always worked if they did not give up. Sometimes in battle, even I forget because it has gotten personal with Satan knowing what slows me down. Notice I said Satan knows what slows me down instead of what stops me because the battle happens after what has happened where I sort out what has been said, the actions, and where people are coming from with the Holy Spirit adding insight into what happened spiritually.
This battle is different because what I am doing is a mission for God and not a one-time and done. It requires the Holy Spirit to give me all the spiritual tools for what I need to do to a group of people with whom I will deal. It is a trust that I will be able to teach an expertise that I do not have. It is a matter of confidence that is lacking as I trust God with my life. What first happened was the Holy Spirit got my attention through a body temperature change (heat). What the Holy Spirit had me do was find a documentary that I had seen months back on Casting Crown, a Christian band with a kid’s ministry and the song “Who am I.” This song and the documentary showed me that God had me covered and to fight the good fight. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 says, “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, Lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” We are supposed to fight the good fight of faith with spiritual tools and God’s character, which should be our character holding on to our eternal life.
We need to find out who we are when we look at ourselves in the mirror. We need to look at what happens each day, that is what makes us able to better prepare for those things we go through that happen because we can see what works as the biggest part of our review comes from the Holy Spirit bringing to light literally in pictures so we can see how we can change to overcome. Too many people go through the same issues for a long time. It requires us to reach out in communication to the Holy Spirit, where our answer is waiting. The Holy Spirit is waiting for us to ask for help. Sometimes, when I battle for a while and things are progressing, I need an answer to battle to change the outcome. That requires us to pray for the answer because the answer may take a day or more; sometimes, we are tested to see how we deal with our battle. These are teaching moments for us where the Holy Spirit watches our reactions to stress and when people treat us terribly to see if we treat them better than they deserve. We do not know God’s motives but what we do know is God is doing what is best for us. We need to trust God and believe God’s motives, and belief comes through us going through issues with the Holy Spirit in our corner. It is the trials that change us into who God wants us to be. 1 Peter 1:7-8 says “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”
Trial by fire is what makes us change; that is why we must go through some things. sometimes, God lets us battle with him, watching and giving us encouragement verses wading into our test giving us all his resources to overcome. We might think we are in charge, and in our little areas that might be true, in the real-world God is in still in charge. We can fight God all we want and refuse to obey him, as many people do, but our place in heaven and eternal life depends on us to change from our sinful nature. It is us going through the same things continually that should make us want to change. I ask God why I must go through the same things when I have gone through them with answers. God’s tests prove our character, our faith, and who we are or the error of our ways. Zechariah 13:8-9 says, “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.” What I tell people is to learn by our mistakes and not to be put through the same things.
We need to listen for the Holy Spirit, as this is where our wisdom comes from. When we speak, it should be with the thought to say who we are, and our job should be to ask ourselves each day, “Who am I?” because it will change our life. We need to see and know if our life is going the right way so we can change our direction or path if we need to. God Bless.
