How Can the Holy Spirit Change Your Life and What are You Willing to Do—R Fritz
This is the question I am going to ask. It requires you to think about “you” and who you are, who you want to be and where you want to go. It is you looking at where you want to be or go with God. You have made a decision to follow Jesus, it was a cry for help or change in your situation. You did not know Jesus, heard things about Jesus from people and felt it could change your life to get what you wanted or needed out of this life as well as eternal life. We did not hear about the Holy Spirit at that time it did not mean anything to us.
The Holy Spirit was sent as the Comforter that will teach you “all” things sent in Jesus’s name. John 14:26 says and this is Jesus speaking “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Jesus knew the people would be troubled or scared that heard him say this because he knew he was leaving, and the Holy Ghost was coming which those that heard Jesus knew very little or nothing about. If you trust Jesus, why would you not trust the Holy Ghost. It is a fear of the unknown.
When I first found out about the Holy Spirit, I read every verse in the Bible that talked about it. That was my start on knowing and finding out about the Holy Spirit. At the same time, I could not differentiate between my thoughts and the Holy Spirit until I started asking questions with somebody and the first question was answered as I finished asking it in my mind, the next question answered when I spoke out about half the question and the next question answered before I got any words out of my mouth. The questions were answered in the spirit. Nobody knew what had happened until I told them. That was my first lesson with the Holy Spirit and one when I knew how the Holy Spirit spoke to me.
Satan also talks to us, and he tried to speak to me also but many times he would use Bible verses with words missing or different words. It was the Holy Spirit who reminded me exactly what the verses said, and I knew it was Satan lying to me. John 8:44 says and this is Jesus speaking “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode (resides) not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” This is why God hates liars it reminds him of Satan.
Fear is one of the tools Satan uses because it is the lie projecting what is in your past or present into your future. It is the lie that does not happen but you believe it. I know fear because I dealt with it for about 50 years and defeating it with the help of the Holy Spirit with verses in the Bible. Satan uses it constantly to control people and when you defeat fear Satan will come at you in a different way. Satan affects your mind and your perception on how you perceive what you are looking at. I saw this when I climbed a mountain, Grays Peak in Colorado and how Satan can change the perception how I saw the height around the mountain. It was a lie I saw at 14000 ft. with the Holy Spirit straightening that perception back to the truth.
Without the Holy Spirit you are fighting spiritual things with your knowledge, something I tried many times. It is called fighting in the flesh. I did not know any better when I first chose Jesus Christ. It is the recipe to lose the battle every time. People said I needed to fight in the spirit but they could not tell me how. The Holy Spirit showed me how after struggling how to do it myself. It was using the Bible (the word) that cuts Satan and his spirits. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Most people are not aware how powerful the word is because it is alive. I have seen the word go past my head like a ticker tape.
The “Word” cuts soul, spirit and bone because it is God. John 1:1,14 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Jesus came as that flesh and the Word that dwelt among us. The Word changed to the Holy Spirit when Jesus died. The Holy Spirit which is Jesus in spiritual form that lives inside us, becomes part of us when we choose Jesus and surrender our will and obey him. The Holy Spirit is the teacher and will teach us all things.
We have to look at what God did for us sending Jesus to the cross to take our penalty for sin. We have a choice to keep doing what we are doing even though we have chosen Jesus or to press closer to Jesus, find out who he is through our spirit. Our relationship has to be spiritual. There are blessings for those that push to find out, follow and do the will of the Father. It is being part of whatever God is doing for people. The Holy Spirit is using us to overcome Satan and overturn what he is doing to steal, kill and destroy people. I had lunch with a couple where I was sent by the Holy Spirit to help them over a month ago. It was a team effort. I will go into details what happened and how the Holy Spirit can use you for his “glory” another time.
You will decide how much of God you want. There is a whole lot more of who God is and helping other people that most people do not know. You have to be surrendered to be able to do these things because Satan will attack you. We should ask the Holy Spirit to teach us. God Bless.
