When it is Trial by Fire, we Learn our Lesson—R Fritz
Sometimes we cause our own trials by what we do, sometimes God sees an opportunity for us to learn something while we go through trials that change our life through us overcoming issues as God decides the timing of when it happens. Daniel 3: says that King Nebuchadnezzar had commanded everybody to fall down and worship an image of gold that was made as their god. Those that would not would be thrown into a burning fiery furnace seven times hotter than ever before. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego refused and were bound and thrown in the furnace. Daniel 3:24-25,27 says “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” The king saw four men in the fire as the fourth being Jesus as the king calling the fourth man the Son of God. God made sure nothing happened to these three men and proving to this king he would take care of his people. The king made a decree that nobody would go against the true God and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego would be promoted.
These three people were literally tried by fire. They should have been burnt to death but God showed up. Although we were not there, we should believe that God would do that for us. They laid their lives down for God. The question I have to ask is who is our God? We say the true God is our God but we let the world change that to be other things in our life that we do not see as overtaking our relationship with the Holy Spirit. It could be our job or our family or something we love to do. What I am trying to say is God comes first but we can still have a life if we keep God in our thoughts and while we do other things which are important in our life if God has something we do it at the same time. For instance, I was on vacation, which does not mean I am on vacation from God, and I saw this person at a mall and I felt that God wanted me to pray for this person or I saw a person holding up a sign that said “Jesus saves.” Our question to the Holy Spirit is what do you want me to do? If the Holy Spirit does that to me, he also does it to others. We need to pay attention and listen to the Holy Spirit at all times, putting God first.
When we are tried by fire, we will not forget because we go through something that has made an impression on us. It is different when it is not personal, we might not remember. We need to think about what we want out of life with God, we can obtain whatever we want as long as we are aligned with him. Most people do their own thing and then when problems arise then ask God for the help they need. Let’s change to get our thoughts aligned with the Holy Spirit and at least to check if God is with us. To check with the Holy Spirit if we have not heard sometimes takes us to start to move down the road we want to go and to see if God pushes back on what we want to do. We learn what we need to do by engaging with the Holy Spirit.
The trial by fire purifies us as it gets us to get back to righteousness, holiness as well as showing our heart and where it is. It also tests our faith as well as what are belief level really is. God gets to see what it takes for us to call out to him if that is what we need to do. God also gets to find out when things get tuff, where will we be, coming closer to God or moving farther away from him. 1 Peter 1:7 says “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” These trials will make us who God wants us to be. It will not be just one time the trials will come when God needs to change us and refine us with fire.
You might not like being tried but our issues get burned away whether we like it or not. It is not a matter of us agreeing to what God wants to do, he just does it or lets it happen with us having to deal with it. Sometimes it is a physical or mental health issue that is the trial. The good thing is God gives us tools after the trial to be more effective for him as well as moving us to another level with more responsibility. The Holy Spirit is who equips those that are called and gives us the knowledge. John 14:26 says with Jesus, speaking “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.” When our trial is over the Holy Spirit will teach us all things.
Our choices after our trial by fire will either direct us to higher things for God or to stay where we are, either choice will be ours. Now we have to move into action that will show God what our answer is. God Bless.
