When Things Look Bad, we Never Give Up, we Press On—R Fritz
When things look insurmountable, we need to put ourselves in our next gear and move out and get going. It is not a time to sit and wish things were better. It is a time to look to God for answers. It is you trusting God and hope to move you in the direction the Holy Spirit is pointing you to move. Romans 5:1-5 says “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace where we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.” Hope is the thing that moves us through tribulation that grows patience through experience. God’s love is what shines in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We are to press on in Jesus Christ and not even let our issues stop us or slow us down. Sometimes we need to look at other people who give us encouragement and show us how they overcome through their faith in Jesus Christ. Faith moves mountains. Our ability to move on is tied to our faith. It is also tied to our drive. Notice I said our drive which is our ability to get things done. We might be good at getting certain things done, but us being tied to the Holy Spirit changes the way we think. The Holy Spirit gives us the wisdom of God entering in every situation, that’s extremely important that God would want to help us out of every person alive. It is God’s love that he wants to show to people. We need to accept his love with his wisdom. This gets us back to our trust in God and our faith.
Accepting God’s love and being able to show God’s love to everybody is a new concept to people. Sometimes we think we can persuade people to do our will. That was never God’s way, he wanted only people who love him. When people love somebody, they will do more just because of that love. This emotion, love, move people to do God’s will overcoming life, fear, Satan. That love from God comes in the form of the Holy Spirit. It is the gift given to those that choose him and obey him. Just because that love was given through the Holy Spirit, it does not force us to love unconditionally. Our emotions still have to be surrendered to the Holy Spirit to love unconditionally.
If we think we can do it alone because we trust our intelligence and want to be in control, we will find out God is not in it. 1 Corinthians 1:19-21,25,27 says “For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound (confuse) the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” The most important part of these verses is if we are so smart or wise and can read the Bible why do we not know God? It is because we are not looking for God’s wisdom, we are trusting in ourselves and believing we can figure it out. It is the foolishness of preaching we are given as the beginning of knowledge of God. It has always been up to us to choose to find the mysteries of God and have to start and grow that personal relationship with God.
With the Holy Spirit, we can take some issues that look bad in our eyes with faith and hope and move on, changing our circumstances. We will only trust God or any person by the amount we love them. That trust level can be our start to surrendering our will and letting the Holy Spirit be the driver in our life and us just being the passenger where we learn while the Holy Spirit teaches us. Let’s all press on and change ourselves with “Love.”
God Bless.
