Truth or Lies with the Spirit of Truth it is Clear—R Fritz

What is truth and where does it come from? Truth comes from the Holy Spirit who lives in those that follow and obey God. God cannot lie because it is his nature and who he is. John 14:17 says and this is Jesus’ speaking “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.” How can people lie or tell untruths if the Holy Spirit lives in us? That should be answered by people who are untruthful because they need to look at their heart and answer who they are with the Holy Spirit judging us. The truth is if the Holy Spirit lives in us how can we lie or speak untruths?

It comes down to the hardness of the heart which should tell us about who we are and if that is the case we have a big problem because we are missing the Holy Spirit. With no repentance, no God we are living a lie. Truth and righteousness go together which are attributes of God. Romans 2:2-8,14-15 says “But we are sure that the judgement of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgement of God? Or despises thou the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)” In the Old Testament God’s laws were written on tablets of stone when Jesus died on the cross and the Holy Spirit came God’s law was written on our heart as the Holy Spirit and our spirit become one as we surrender. We at that point can become all God has meant for us to be. It is our feelings that must be surrendered also. It is a matter of leaning on the Holy Spirit as we are not forced to surrender, it is God’s love as the Holy Spirit that will keep us on track. That love changes my attitude to change whether I want to do something the Holy Spirit wants me to do. That is the effect of God’s love on our life. One thing I can tell people is that same Holy Spirit will do the same for you as well as me, although we are all different so God will treat us differently as the Holy Spirit told me that I have no excuses for not doing what he asks me so when I do not accomplish what I am supposed to do my answer to God is “sorry give me another chance to get it done” and having no excuses is just for me because God did not speak that to anybody else.

When we do not know God’s voice Satan can come in and steal us away from God. Satan does that by making our thoughts and his seem like they are one with only Satan wanting to pull us away from God and not wanting the best for us. John 10:25-28 says, and this is Jesus speaking Jesus answered them, “I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Jesus’s followers hear his voice and follow him and will not be removed by man out of his grasp. We know his voice because we also have the Holy Spirit that gives us a check in our spirit where we know something is not right, then we ask the Holy Spirit what is not right. Satan’s motive is to keep us in sin. John 10:10-11 says, and this is Jesus’s speaking “The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepard: the good shepard giveth his life for the sheep.”  Satan will try every different trick to destroy us and if we run to Jesus, Satan will get us to run faster hoping you will run ourselves into the ground physically and mentally. Satan knows what will work on each one of us to stop us from obeying the Holy Spirit. What I have learned is when we change how we do things it confuses Satan.

What I hear is people say their statements are hyperbole or extreme exaggeration or an untruth. Our words and actions will be judged true or false (a lie). Matthew 12:36-37 says, and this is Jesus’ speaking “But I say to you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” We are accountable for our words as well as our actions as we will answer on the day of judgement. People have forgotten or do not care that lies are sins. Words show the moral state of our soul because we either bless people or curse them.

The tongue cannot be controlled by us nor do most people want that to happen. James 3:6, 8-10 says “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (wickedness): so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therefore, curse we men, which are made after the similitude (likeness) of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” What is in our heart comes out of our mouth to bless or curse people. It is our choice to think before we speak; we have many hurt people walking around let us pray for, listen to the Spirit of truth, and speak blessings on people. God Bless.
