How do We Find out Who God is—R Fritz

Most people would say read the Bible. Let me add studying the Bible is the quickest way to find out about any subject. The Holy Spirit gives me the title of what I am going to write. They are not my words they are only written on my computer screen by me. You might not believe that because you do not know God or the Holy Spirit. I choose to have an intimate (personal) relationship with God. I wanted to truly find him as he truly is. That thought comes with some fear because of some things that happened to people in the Bible. It is looking at the circumstances of why God did certain things. I have to look at what the Bible says God’s character is. That is what I am studying and what I will study till I see him. Knowing God is knowing how we should be. It is being serious about finding his attributes. Knowing God brings out our flaws. God’s love covers our flaws or shortcomings. Most people look at God through their regular eyes. I am going to look through my spiritual eyes and senses.

The Holy Spirit is Jesus in the Spirit that is given to those that choose Jesus and obey him. Act 5:32 says “And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” That in itself is a miracle and a blessing from God. It was given after Jesus took our sin to the cross. It was the most unselfish act by our Spiritual Father, God. What most people do not understand was God knew what was going to happen to Adam. This is God our creator who was not going to pivot to a different plan just because it happened. He knew exactly what was going to happen. When he made us with free will, we have choices. Adam was only given one rule and could not obey it. Moses coming down with rules written on tablets did not change who we were. Because of sin, everything had to be done holy and righteous, God’s righteousness.

Without reading and studying we do not know who God is and understand his ways because through our knowledge, we cannot know his ways. When I started to study who God was in the last year, I had to study his character, just like if I would study about any person. The difference is human versus Spirit because God is a Spirit. John 4:23-24 says, and this is Jesus, speaking “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” This worship is from our spirit to the Holy Spirit.

God looks at our hearts to judge us. He looks inward not outward to see about us. God took that old heart and made it better. Hebrews 8:10 says “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:” God is talking about his law being written in our heart being spiritual. We have God’s rules in our minds. It was taken from being written on tablets to be indwelled into us.

Our living God came to earth as a man Jesus, who had the characteristics of God in the flesh. Jesus did exactly as his father showed him. Jesus was being an example of what we should do. John 5:19 says Then answered Jesus and said unto them, “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” This is how we are supposed to honor God by trusting and doing as either Jesus showed us or how he explained the word. Jesus is honoring his Father by doing as was shown to him. Love is God’s greatest tool and Jesus shows how we are supposed to use it.

Our answer for wisdom comes from God, it comes from us asking for wisdom, it gets back to you not having God’s wisdom and trying to accomplish life with ours. It eventually comes down to us coming to God because life becomes hard enough for us to want to change our results. That’s why we want to meet God. I will say I did not know God when I made the decision to follow him but somehow, I trusted him. That was my start. Proverbs 2:6-11 says “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of the saints. Then shall thou understand righteousness, and judgment and equity, yea, every good path? When wisdom entereth into thine heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion (Choice) shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

The extra study of God’s character has gotten me closer to the Holy Spirit and moved me to a different plateau with the Holy Spirit. It is where the Holy Spirit speaks to you in the mornings or after a Bible study or after meetings with people. It is the Holy Spirit that gives you wisdom and understanding of what happens when engaging with people. It is the Holy Spirit giving you pictures and visions.

This is my story. It is now time to change your story to find out who God is. God Bless.
