Who has Authority in the Spirit—R Fritz

God has all authority. He wants us to be like him, righteous and holy. God came to earth as a man in Jesus Christ and knows what we go through. When we choose Jesus Christ and accept the Holy Spirit in obedience and surrender our will, the Holy Spirit that lives in us has that authority that Jesus Christ gave us.

We have to go back and remember some history. Lucifer an angel, who rebelled against God with the sin of pride was thrown to the earth with his followers with his name changed by God to Satan, meaning accuser. This was the first sin and rebellion against God. Adam and Eve changed God’s plan with their disobedience in the Garden of Eden with Satan showing them sin with disobedience. Adam’s children Cain and Abel had the curse of sin rise up in Cain to kill Abel. This was where evil rose up. Satan wants you to sin to accuse you of your sin to God. 1 John 3:8 says “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus Christ came to destroy the evil from the devil and sin and put us back on track to go back to being holy and righteous.

Satan also wants you to curse yourself and your family with your “words.” He is the accuser of brethren. The words from our forefathers have cursed us and our health. We need to break these generational curses when we see the same illness go from one generation to more generations. (For instance, heart issues) Prayer is the answer to stop generational curses. The angels that followed Satan are the spirits that have afflicted people for thousands of years. Matthew 12:36-37 says, and this is Jesus speaking “But I say unto you, that every idle word those men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by words thou shall be justified, and by thy words, thou shall be condemned.” We will be responsible for every word we speak and judged by them.

The Bible speaks first of Jesus getting baptized and Satan tempting him in the wilderness. Matthew 4:1,3-4,6-7,9-10 says Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said,” It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, he shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands, they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, “It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou will fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Jesus used words from the Bible to defeat Satan and send him away.

We also got the same ability to send Satan packing. James 4:7 says “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This is something every one of us can do. We need to submit to God. It comes back to trusting God and being humble and remembering what God did in sending Jesus for payment for sin. Submit is giving ourselves to God, surrender.

Jesus sent his disciples out 2 by 2 to preach the gospel. He gave power and authority to his disciples. Mark 6:7,12-13 says “And he called unto him the twelve and began to send them forth by two and two and gave them power over unclean spirits, And they went out and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.” Jesus gave that power and authority because he could not by himself meet and talk to all the people in the world and because he could not do mighty works where people knew him and his family. That same power is given through the Holy Spirit. Jesus showed grace and mercy to people he met. He healed people to get them to show his love for the people and remove their infirmities.

We have to remember the spiritual world is real. Our relationship with God is spiritual. Spirits exist on earth. Our thoughts come from 3 places, God, Satan, or his spirits, and from ourselves. Knowing this about our thoughts is one of the most important things I could teach you. Too many people believe all their thoughts come from themselves.  We need to decide which thoughts are holy and righteous and discard all the other thoughts. When we dwell and consider thoughts and words that are not righteous, they “will” come out of your mouth or become your thought and actions. I say this from my experiences where I did not discard bad words or thoughts, they came out of my mouth.

Spirits and spiritual things happen whether we fear them or like to hear about them. When I first chose Jesus, I saw spirits, was taught about spirits, and even tried to fight them. I could not fight them because I did not know how. People would tell me that I needed to fight in the spirit. When I asked them how to do that, they could not tell me how. I had to fight them with spiritual warfare books. One day I read a book that said I should start reading and studying the Bible for my answers. About two years later, the Holy Spirit said he would teach me all things including how to fight in the spirit using Bible verses. You are able to do more than me, just listen to the Holy Spirit. God Bless.
