The Question to Ask is Why???–R Fritz
The question we ask is why. We want to know what happened. I ask the Holy Spirit why because it is me looking for truth about something or what has happened. I had a family member who died about nine years ago, my question to God was “why did you take this person.” For me it was for me to understand the reason. Two days later I received the answer. God looks at our heart and decides, he knows what is best for us and the timing when we need to know our answer. Sometimes God decides we do not need the answer, which is up to God. With God we are on a need-to-know basis. We decide when we think we need something. It is also the attitude we have when asking God those matters. Matthew 27:46 says with Jesus speaking and about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” That is to say, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Jesus was not looking for an answer here, he knew this was God (the Father) in the flesh. Jesus was bearing the penalty for sin at the time as a man before he died with manly feelings.
We are asking God why he would let things happen which we believe should not have happened. What we do not understand is we need to trust God. The things we go through will make us stronger. If we begin to know God and his character, we begin to understand him but must remember his ways are not our ways or his thoughts not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We are trying to understand God with our thoughts and our wisdom which will not work. We must remember when we are going through issues or dealing with things that happen to our family and friends that God is not responsible, we make choices. When we chose Jesus we gave our life to him, when we did that, we had to trust him. If we do not trust him, we are putting our trust back in ourselves or another man. When that happens Jesus steps back and lets us do it our way. Then we wonder “why?” We should know why because of our actions. We cause our problems because of our disbelief and God leaves us to learn a lesson, if we do not learn we will go through the same thing repeatedly. We should be asking ourselves “why.” When we say why to God, are we blaming him for what has happened? We need to look at the people involved to see what they were doing or not doing. We are responsible for our own issues or mistakes, we should be asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom and understanding. We also make choices that put us in a predicament where we should have asked the Holy Spirit what we should have done first. My point is if God puts us in a predicament or bad place, he will get us out, God’s will, but when we put ourselves in a bad place that is on us, our decision to pray puts God back in our situation because we become humble which can give us his grace or mercy.
We pray for the wrong thing or ask amiss which I let people know so they can change. It is praying for exactly what we need with the Holy Spirit to give us the words to communicate. It is also asking for God’s will in our life. We do not have to be perfect in our words as our spirit and the Holy Spirit will come together. Remember prayer is our communication between the Holy Spirit and us. We must learn to whom we are talking. God’s character is love, grace, mercy, and peace, why should we be afraid of him. Our Spirits come together when we surrender and become one. God knows us and has an expected result for each of us. We choose every day what our day will be and with that our life. What I have learned is without a plan we keep doing the same thing because our thought process is in the “just getting by” mode. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken (listen) unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” It requires us to do something that being to search for God with all our heart. Here starts where the “why” things go sideways for us. It is the way we think on how to get God’s attention that is the problem. When we really choose Jesus and make him the top item in our life, we get a plan from God who really knows us where life starts with excitement every morning. It is where we need to trust the Holy Spirit who resides in us. When we begin to trust the Holy Spirit, life becomes easier. That does not mean life does not still have its difficulties, with God all things are possible. Look at our past life where it took us and where it would have taken us for eternity.
We need Jesus and need to surrender to the Holy Spirit instead of fighting him because we use our thoughts and ways. The thing we should ask about from the Holy Spirit is for his understanding. We expect people to understand what we tell them with our understanding. Our prayer should be for the people we have expectations for to get God’s understanding. To get understanding from the Holy Spirit was the wisdom that I needed to give to all. This is what we need to answer the “why” that we want answered. The question is what we are willing to do to get the “why” answered. Answer: Search for God with all our heart where we have the Holy Spirit that lives in us and all we must do is surrender, ask, and listen then obey. It starts with surrender and change; this is our decision to make and will answer the “why” we have asked. God Bless.
