By our Fruit God will Know Us—R Fritz

The Bible talks about our fruit will be judged. In other words, did we do what God has told us to do or have we done what we think God wants us to do. When we do what we believe are good things but do not ask God we might be following us or man, not God. Proverbs 21:2 says, “Every way of a man is right in his own mind; but the LORD pondereth (weighs) the hearts.”  We think we are right or we ask another pastor or man when we have God who knows everything shows who we put first. How foolish is that? We think we know God, but we do not have a relationship with him where we hear the Holy Spirit and obey what is said. The LORD looks at the heart. That question should be asked every day instead of waiting until judgment day when it will be too late to change course. Too many people believe they are good with God but have no relationship with him.

Maybe we need to understand what a relationship with God is, it starts with love, communication, respect as does a relationship with man. I treated God like I treated other people knowing who he was. God is love, isn’t that what every person is looking for? We are looking for love but on our terms. God has two commandments, in Matthew 22:37-40 and this is Jesus speaking Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. These two commandments take care of all the other commandments. We are supposed to love God with all our being; he already loves us. Those that have the Holy Spirit have that love in us we just need to speak to God’s spirit. Our relationship must start somehow, and we need to take the initiative, God is waiting on us to speak up. Is not taking the first step sound like when we started with our spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend? It might have been awkward at the start of that relationship, but we moved on, it is the same with God except we cannot see him. The Holy Spirit will answer in our thoughts as he is spiritual. We decide when we will speak to God as we can do it anywhere. God spoke to me at work first then it turned to first thing in the morning where I gave him my best time. If we are serious God knows that and he will give his best time to us.

We need to love God with all our heart with our fruit, our actions with us having the Holy Spirit. This is the recipe to make it to heaven. It is the things we do when nobody is looking for that show who we are. Matthew 7:21-23 says and this is Jesus speaking “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawlessness).” We need to do the will of the Father which is the two greatest commandments which covers all ten. We also need to obey what the Holy Spirit speaks to us because when do things on our own those we think are good might not be what Jesus wants us to do or the timing is wrong, therefore could be the opposite what Jesus wants us to do thinking we know Jesus. From my experience with the Holy Spirit when I showed up and did what I was supposed to do even when I felt I had failed, every time the Holy Spirit assures me that I did not and the miracle that happens. When we do things because we look good without authority because God did not give us that authority, he does not know us or our works without the Holy Spirit.  Jesus’s Spirit that was sent when Jesus left the earth as the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus was given to those who chose him and obey him. When we obey the Holy Spirit that is the fruit shown to everybody. The fruit that blesses us or curses us comes from our true faith because faith without our works is dead.

Our fruit should be led by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (long and patient endurance), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (self- control), against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Our fruit when we chose Jesus, received the Holy Spirit and walk in the Spirit each day shows who we belong to. Every day are not necessarily good days; we strive to become that person led by Jesus and the fruit of the Spirit. If we choose to live in the flesh and act out our life in the flesh with works of the flesh the result in the end will not be good. The works of the flesh are listed in Galatians 5:19-21 and says in verse twenty-one “they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Just because we choose Jesus and live our life without him as the Holy Spirit and do the things to look like we are righteous but are not, will not fool Jesus and will not enter the Kingdom of God.

We all have a choice to live our life in righteousness and obedience through the Holy Spirit or live a life where we look like we are doing and speaking all the right things but Jesus not knowing us because we did not have a spiritual relationship with him through the Holy Spirit will say to us I never knew you, get away from me you worker of iniquity. The thing we want to hear from Jesus is “well done good and faithful servant” as we are on our way to heaven. God Bless.
