Do our Words or Actions Mean Something when We do not Follow Through–R Fritz

When we do not do what we say we will do it matters. It matters because somebody is depending on us to help or follow through. Not doing what we say we will do puts the other person in a position to waste their time and money. It is not considering the other person has value to you. Maybe we have had hurt feelings and do not understand what we have done. It is looking at ourselves to see how we are treating people.

Our words should be our bond. It should be our code in how we operate in our life. If we cannot do what we say we are to do we need to raise our hand, speak up or communicate so everybody involved knows that the agreed-to-plan is changing. That is the righteous thing to do. No more speaking let’s do the right thing. Let us use God’s words instead of man’s words so that our words and actions are tied to God and his words. If we do not tie our words to God. We have decided to tie our words to man. Matthew 12:36-37 says and this Jesus speaking “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words, thou shalt be condemned.”  Words are going to make you or break you and they will be judged for you or against you. That is why words are important.

Our words come from the heart and are turned into actions. It goes back to our beliefs. Our whole life is tied to our belief or trust in God. Our actions move us because of that belief. Love is the basis for the commandments where love should be the motive in everything we do. God is love and if we have the Holy Spirit love shows in everything we do. 1 John 4:6-8,11-12 says “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit” Love shows the nature of God which is who we should be because we are given the Holy Spirit which is God’s Spirit.

Even when people do not show love to us. We surprise them and give them greater love. People are going through issues all the time and forget about love because our issues are overwhelming them where they do not feel love at that time. When we remind people through the actions we care for, they will see we care over time. We have so many people who need the love only we can give people.

God loves everybody. Those that love him will find that he has harsh words for us sometimes. That does not mean God does not love us. It actually means he shows he truly loves us and cares for us. Hebrews 12:5-9 says “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth, and scourgeth (disciplines) every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? God uses discipline for those that he considers a son just like our earthy father did. Discipline shows he cares and wants what is best for us. It means God always has us in his thoughts. When we stray from where we need to be, God is trying to bring us back to the narrow road or if we make a mistake, he wants us to know so we can change and keep moving forward. It could be we do not know we have done something wrong, or we have disobeyed God. God chastises those he loves.

Sometimes we do not understand that our God has taught our forefathers how to be fathers. Somebody had to teach men and women how to be parents. It was not trial and error. We learned from our parents. Love has been around us even when we could not see it. God is love and does not leave us or forsake us. When you know God and have the Holy Spirit you feel God’s love. Our spirit and the Holy Spirit become one.

When people do things that make us angry or upset us, we need to remember what we are supposed to do and love them even though they might not seem to be loveable. It is never about us it is about remembering who we are and showing love because that is what Jesus Christ wants us to do. It is our nature through the Holy Spirit. Let us be the person Jesus Christ called us to be. God Bless.
