How much Power do our Words really Have—R Fritz

Our words can change any situation we get into. It could be truth or lie and it could change what somebody thinks or believes. Somehow, we can literally change somebody’s life because we either care and have made sure our words are true or we do not care and tell people what we think they want to hear and a lie wrapped with some truth. Sometimes people want to believe what they perceive is truth, in other words, it is what we want to be the truth.  This is the literal result our words have. This is people using our words to manipulate somebody. It will also show our integrity or if we are righteous. Proverbs 13:5 says “A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome (disgusting), and cometh to shame.”

Our words also show our heart and how or if somebody said something to fuel our feelings. Our feelings can be manipulated if they are not surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Satan is the fuel that gets people to think and speak or act without giving any thought to what comes out of our mouths. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” It is Satan the god of this world that blinds the minds of those that do not believe. It is Jesus Christ through the shining of the light of his word that takes the blinders off.

It is our words that bless or curse people. We speak words even cursing our family and friends and if we keep speaking those words, they eventually become true. Proverbs 13:3 says “He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.” It should show everybody how important it is to control our tongue because our lips will speak out of destruction. The destruction could be ours and the people around us. We should be speaking positive words to everybody we know because these words will change their outcomes as well. What we forget sometimes is if we keep doing what God asks of us, we will be blessed.

The power that is given to us using God’s word changes lives and what we believe if we speak the words out. This is the spiritual power through the Holy Spirit. Most people do not understand how God’s words (the Bible) can change thinking. It is God’s light that shines on issues or problems we are having because the life-changing answer comes from God. We are looking in the wrong place when wisdom comes from God and we are looking for “man” to come up with the answer. Knowing God and trusting God begins a process when we believe in God, we are in the best place we can ever be in. We trust in man because we have either seen men helping or we do not know God. We believe in man because it is easy to call or text somebody to get help. To get to God we need to pray or have a relationship and that takes time. God knows what we need. It is the other issue where we need to trust and obey God. We forget if the Holy Spirit lives in us everything is at hand. God’s thoughts become our thoughts and we speak those words from the Holy Spirit. This is how our words spiritually change the people we speak them to. It is the Spirit, “the Holy Spirit” that is speaking through us and that is why we are able to see real change. “God-given change so subtle we do not see it coming because it comes from somebody we know or somebody we trust because we feel a bond with somebody we just met, all arranged by God through the Holy Spirit.

We think God does not answer our prayers or speak to us. We are not listening to the right person the one that God has sent. We will listen to people with titles because they went to school for years and should know, right, not necessarily. God uses those that he trusts and those that obey him. We pick the wrong person to listen to sometimes. That does not mean God did not send somebody to help us or teach us until we learn to hear and obey God. When we hear or know God’s voice, we are taught by him. It is that spiritual voice that you hear and know.

Words or how we use them or if the Holy Spirit controls us is how we will be judged because the “WORD” (the Bible) will judge us. We had better know the Bible, whether we know it or not we will be judged by it. John 12:48 says and this is Jesus, speaking “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth, not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”  The truth will judge us, not our truth that will judge us. Words do matter and knowing Jesus and the word will matter on judgment day.

The Holy Spirit is the only thing that keeps us righteous and our words accountable. If we think we can do it ourselves with our wisdom and good luck, we are not going to make it. We need to make sure we are completely surrendered to the Holy Spirit. If there are elements of our life that are not surrendered, that will be where our flesh will rise up and where Satan will try to use them for his advantage. It is now up to us to speak the words the Holy Spirit has for us. Let’s be all God meant for us to be. God Bless.
