Does our Opinion or What we Think Really Matter to God—R Fritz
That answer is no because our opinion is based on our knowledge not God who knows all and has all truth. We can only obtain what man has unless the Holy Spirit feeds us the truth. Opinions are fed with feelings, emotions, what has happened in our life and our knowledge. What part of the last statement is from God, none of it. These are things that gave us our knowledge and they should not be discounted about us, but they do not compare to God and his wisdom.
Opinions should not be used to try to control or intimidate somebody because it is not complete truth, it is their truth what they believe as truth. I was invited to a Bible study last week; the study was fine but the conversations before and after were chaotic with somebody making statements attacking various parts of the Bible and then getting angry about other people not buying into his take on herbs. I agreed with what this person said about herbs. This person was noticeably upset but the Holy Spirit did not want me to leave this house. The Holy Spirit had me put my arm on this person’s shoulder to try and calm this person down. That is something I have never done but that is what the Holy Spirit wanted me to do. It was getting late, and the Holy Spirit would not let me leave until I answered his last question which this person thought would be a gotcha question. The Holy Spirit surprised this person with the answer that came out of my mouth. I said to this person “do you have any other questions” and the answer was “no.” It was my time to leave. People do not understand when I say I am not supposed to leave is that the Holy Spirit does not give me the thought to leave amongst all that chaos. That is how the Holy Spirit keeps me surrendering through my thoughts, our teacher knows our heart and how much we are committed to him. Luke 12:11-12 says and this Jesus speaking “And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say:” When we believe the Holy Spirit has us covered, we can be who God wants us to be.
I told somebody I know what happened and they said they would leave right away. When I told them that the Holy Spirit would not let me leave, this person said that PTSD would have taken this person right out of the room. What the Holy Spirit showed me after what was said was this person’s PTSD was controlling this person when their PTSD trigger would cause this person to move from that situation. What has been said by this person was more understanding how PTSD controls people than the Holy Spirit wanted me to know how to help this person as well as those other people that have PTSD.
Some might wonder how I get into these situations; it is speaking my want of God to use me and what God wanted me to be able to manage any situation into which I am put. It is as my commitment and knowledge that I know my opinion does not matter. It is about focusing on what God wants to happen and not on my feelings or what I want to say. That does not mean that after hearing things that I disagree on that Holy Spirit sometimes muzzles me but no other people. This is what surrendered looks like with what God wants done and without what we think.
Why does it matter what somebody thinks or their opinion when we can ask our God through the Holy Spirit who knows all things. This person was happy when their health changed and does not need drugs from the drug companies, but this person was angry when people did not do what was said. This person does not understand that people will do what they want when the time is right for them. People watch other people to see if they believe what people have said is true. This person does not understand God’s love. We must look at our motives when we do something. It is like telling people about Jesus, we do not cram it down their throat we feed it to people slowly and then let them slowly remember the love shown.
Motives are what we think, if we are surrendered, they will not control us. The definition for motive is the goal or object of a person’s action. How does that fit into the actions God has for us? That question we need to ask God. 1 Corinthians 4:4-6 says “For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels (motives) of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.” We have motives which then gives us an agenda, things we want to accomplish. Our motives are set up with our thoughts, emotions or what we know, they belong to us.
What part of God or his love comes from us forcing our will on somebody else. People believe they are doing the right thing. It is their thoughts that they are doing God’s work. They are doing their work. God has a purpose for each of us and it is different from anybody else. Some want to judge because it is not what they know or what God has for them. Be very careful and let God’s love bring the truth to every situation we are put in. 1 Corinthians 16:14 says “Let all your things be done with charity (love).” The verse says everything. God’s love is always the answer. God Bless.
