God’s Plan For Us

Do we Choose What Our Ministry is or does God Decide?—R Fritz

First, we need to decide if we are willing to do what God’s plan is for our life or do our own thing, which is not good. God has a plan for us, and if we are surrendered, that plan will play out as we keep living our life. We might not declare what our ministry is or what we do with God, but we still have a ministry. God’s plan or what the Holy Spirit plans for us every day, happens with or without us. The result that God has planned might not happen that day if we refuse to do our part. This is the problem with people doing their own thing. When we think of ourselves and not who God wants to bless, we also lose our blessing, which we might need. That is what happens when we do not love our neighbor as ourselves. The question to ask is, do we love ourselves? Proverbs 19:8 says, “He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.”  We learn love from God who is love. 1 John 4:16 says, “And we have known and believed the love God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” If the Holy Spirit lives in us, love lives in us, God’s love. When the Holy Spirit becomes part of us, when we surrender, that love becomes who we are. We need to look at ourselves if that love does not show. I would be asking God why I do not know that love.

Sometimes I am asked to go to places by the Holy Spirit; most of the time, where I go on my own involves things the Holy Spirit set up. I asked the Holy Spirit years ago to make reservations for me where I was to be. I asked that because trying to reach somebody on the phone over twenty years ago was a losing proposition and still is. Let the Holy Spirit make what plans need to be made, and we need to make sure we are where we are supposed to be on God’s time. What people do not understand is that we are God’s hands, feet, and mouthpiece. We are sometimes who God sends to give answers to people and their prayers. I have had to go to hospitals to pray for people and give them messages to leave because Satan was planning something. We might not understand that we have people doing deeds for Satan. Some people who are not associated with God do the right things, but others only care about themselves and do things to enrich themselves and do Satan’s dirty work or Satan’s hands and feet and mouthpiece. We just need to talk to people and watch what they do to see where they stand. We must remember we were born into sin. Being positive when things go sideways is not what all of us grew up with. We learn to love people when we choose to be positive. We need to learn to love on people, and that comes from Jesus and what he did; then it is taking that a step further, finding out who Jesus was, choosing and following him. It keeps moving forward if we choose to let the Holy Spirit use us for his glory. Galatians 5:22-25 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (self-control): against such is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” When we walk in the Spirit, we see things change. Battles are fought in the Spirit; if we do not fight there, we lose the battle. I found out that Satan tries to get us to fight our battles in the flesh, which is why we lose.

Battles that happen are spiritual battles that must be fought in the Spirit. We might see things in the flesh as I see spirits, but they are spiritual battles. To change people’s outlook, we speak about things that come from the Holy Spirit that lives in us. Our words are powerful because of who lives in us. We see things in the Spirit because that is the gift we got from God. We must choose to take the battle on if we are to change our lives or the people around us. Our prayers are a start, as we need to believe they will be answered. Why are we praying? We need to have faith for God to operate. Without faith, we cannot please God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Our faith is important in everything we do. The more we believe, and our actions show that belief, the more our faith also grows. This, in turn, gives our prayers notice by God and answers. The more we bring the Holy Spirit into our lives and the issues we are dealing with, the better our relationship is with the Holy Spirit.

I can speak about my ministry and the path that brought me to where I am was not necessarily where I ever expected, as when I chose Jesus, I made some decisions such as to volunteer for spiritual battles as they were already upon me. What I learned is that where I was put, there were spiritual battles where people God wanted me to touch. People where I showed them who God was, and they saw me treat people with God’s love to change and put them on a path to get back to God and his love. We need to go where God wants us; he has us covered, and be happy where we are. God knows us better than we do; trust him and be all we were meant to be. God Bless.
