Life gives us Curve Balls; we Need to Deal with Them or Wait for the Right Pitch—R Fritz
Our life is not going to be perfect or always great. With Satan being able to affect our thoughts and our thinking, we will have to deal with him. It is our attitude that will get us through these trying times. Attitude is what has gotten me through many situations. It is the ability to see past these situations in the Spirit with an attitude: I will get this done and not give up until it is accomplished. This attitude is not against a person it is against whatever circumstance gets in our way, with the focus on the Holy Spirit. When we get the Holy Spirit involved with us, focused on him, the Holy Spirit in us is in control. The curveball is the pitch in baseball that is slower but curves instead of going straight with speed. It is the pitch in baseball that is supposed to confuse us how much it will break or move. You might wonder why I used this analogy. It is because that is what the Holy Spirit wanted to use to show that our life goes through ups and downs, sometimes really volatile. The Holy Spirit or us will need to deal with this issue or issues, and sometimes we need to wait instead of jumping into our first thoughts, where we wait on the best-case ending. We will not get the results we are looking for, or something better just with only our wisdom. James 1:5-6 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” God has the wisdom we are looking for; all we must do is ask.
Attitude is everything in getting through life, but attitude with the Holy Spirit is a lifesaver. Our attitude comes from God; it is given to us as part of our soul. The ability to keep focused until we accomplish our goal is God-given. That same attitude God can use because of the ability to focus. The attitude we are given when we add the Holy Spirit is truly beneficial. It is the Holy Spirit that can put all of God’s attributes together. Every day starts with asking the Holy Spirit what we can do for him. It is also being thankful for where we are; remember, where we are is because of us, as we all have the same opportunity, maybe not the same circumstances. The difference maker is the Holy Spirit, and that will be who changes our life and puts us on target to become who God meant for us to be. It is God’s plan that will give us exactly what we need to have a God-given life. That does not mean our life will be perfect with no problems because we have control over only ourselves. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” This verse was the first verse the Holy Spirit gave to me. He wanted me to know who my enemy was because it was not the person; it was the spirit they possessed or the spirit who was manipulating them, which is very important when dealing with people. The people around us are manipulated by Satan and his minions, and the words they speak to people affect them because people accept the words spoken through our thoughts as their own without knowing or checking out the truth. After all, we believe people. After all, we do not want to take the time to check things out. That is being lazy on our part because I was where everybody else was and did not check things out until I found out I was lied to by Satan, and now the Holy Spirit in me lets me know when something is not right with a check in my spirit.
The only way we will ever truly know the Holy Spirit is to spend time with the Holy Spirit, communicating with him. The next step is to pray or talk to the Holy Spirit during the day or night, at work, during our lunch break, and believe in him, expecting he will be there for us. If we do the things I talk about, you will get the Holy Spirit’s attention. This is what I did because I was seeing the Holy Spirit change my life. I was serious, and I heard from other people what God had done for them and believed God would do the same for me as well as anybody else. God has done more for me than I could believe, as that also required the need to change to walk through my issues, some not my fault, but they needed to be dealt with. We learn obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” Is a life doing our own thing without God, or thinking we are living a good life with God but not obeying him, paying a price, better than living a life obeying him and gaining favor and peace? It is a matter of living the same life of love as Jesus showed us, as Jesus took our sins to the cross. Jesus showed us his love by laying down his life for us, the ultimate show of love. Satan is going to use fear to keep you at bay and to slow us down to the point of trying to stop us from obedience. Obedience is first trying to obey; then, through surrendering our heart, we start to obey, as our flesh does not want to obey.
This is about making our own testimony; it is about taking what I did, which is successful, and believing God would do the same for us to live a peace-filled life. Peace in the storms of life is what the Holy Spirit brings to us. We are going to have problems; we choose the road we will travel: the narrow road with Jesus or the wide road to destruction; one requires change. God Bless.
